In the East. When he was on the Cavs, the East was probably the weakest I have ever seen a conference in my 40 years as a basketball fan.

I don’t understand why fans can claim the Bubble Chip is not legit.

    1. The guys who were actually there said it was much tougher because of the Mental toll it took on them being away from their loved ones.

    2. Every Squad had the same amount of rest time.

    3. Every team that was there, played hard and it sure looked like they were competing at a very high level.

Yeah but he was the only one to go to 8th straight Finals. So the East was weak for 8th straight years? The man forced a 70 win team to send the whole team to recruit KD.

lol @ anyone saying the 2020 title isn't legit

it's actually more legit because every team was given a few months to get 100% healthy going into the playoffs. compare that to last season when the suns made the finals only because every team they faced was missing a superstar

Meh. A title is a title. There have been other so called asterisk seasons and all history records is who won.

I actually disagree with the thought that LeBron will end up leaving the team with nothing. AD isn’t nothing and i do think guys will want to play with him. Also multiple teams have now successfully moved Westbrook so I’m not convinced we couldn’t move him next year if we really wanted to.

I wanted a guy like Harrison Barnes or if we got really lucky Joe Ingles. Hield would’ve been a good fit but we still would have had to make a similar trade to the kings to get him so the defensive issues would still be there.

I’m not shocked we went for a big name though. That’s just our thing and it won’t change anytime soon.

early success for the guys we traded (and let walk) and their teams is making our early season struggles tougher to watch for a lot of fans. I get it. But I still lean toward waiting to get everyone back before completely giving up on the season.

right. AD's a better top option than like, 25 other teams have, and he and THT are the only ones on the books three years from now. one could build around that pretty quickly, i'd think. but to the other point: we can't move any more draft picks and need to start getting serious about re-acquiring non-vet-mins if only to help facilitate future trades.

Yea the vet min contracts on this team are going to be a problem. We’re going to have huge turnover again in the off-season, which means another season where the first half is just them acclimating themselves to each other.

I'm hoping we can run it back with the pieces that fit and work. Maybe only have 5 new players instead of 12. And in this idea, all 5 are at least 6-7 and can play some semblance of defense.

westbrook is only a laker because that's who lebron personally wanted. no thought at all given to whether or not he'd fit with the pieces they have. but i don't think hield would've been a good fit either

this team's problem is that they can't play defense. defensive minded guys like caruso and KCP were replaced with old shooters who can't play D. the lakers were one of the best defensive teams the last two seasons but they sacrificed all that for the 3 pt shot, which i understand, but these results can't be surprising. especially when you also have westbrook being such a bad fit

We’ll have decent to good defense capable players for our core rotation if we ever get everyone back healthy. This can’t just be broad brushed as all role playing defenders are gone. Even though true we lost decent in Kuzma and good in KCP and Caruso. Dwight, THT (should be), Ariza and the nice surprise of Reaves. Bazemore capable at times and have to see what Nunn can do if he wants minutes. Russ should get better as well.

Whoops just saw what thread I’m in. My bad.

yeah, we thumbed our noses at continuity. gs is 11-1 with basically the same team that missed the playoffs last year because...they're basically the same team and are healthier. even 3-star bkn returned more guys.

We suck. End of story. Trade all these mother******s while they are worth anything...

Leave Reaves and may be THT, rebuild.

I’m so tired of losing by 20-30 points. Every other game shouldn’t be a 20-30 point blowout. AD, Russ, and a bunch of scrubs should be enough to have competitive games.

We barely beat scrub teams (down the wire) and get blown out by any half decent playoff team.

The Lakers and LeBron where laughing in the off-season by people calling them old and disfunctional. They were fueled lol.

If they had to do it over again, I think Lakers would've kept AC and paid the tax too. They desperately miss him and his influence on the court
