all of this is totally insane. like almost every word. disconnected from any observable reality.

magic was the architect (by his own admission) of some of the very dumbest things we did during that period. but had he stayed, we'd have a zillion titles and have traded for all the stars. ok.

we couldn't close the AD deal until his dumb a** got out of the way. he offered MORE than we ended up paying!

BS..we closed the AD deal, when AD's dad canceled Boston, and then Rob still gave away too much. With nobody bidding against him.

Rob has done his share of dumb s*** since he's been in charge, from what I see. They both got hired in 17.

Magic could have hired a non backstabber as GM, and been just fine IMO.

Too many guards on this team
Dlo, AR, K4, Vincent, Max, JHS

AR is the clear star and then Dlo the other starter
Gabe should be the backup PG

Max is going to get minutes due to the defensive needs

Max and K4 can probably play some 3

Figure Bronny is in G league but not a lot of minutes for JHS just looking at the roster. With two other PGs and his lack of off ball threat compared to a guy like Knecht feel like he's getting left out or there has to be a move to get more size

Of course that assumes people stay healthy

And it would have cost us 3 first round picks plus LeBron James’ firstborn son. Wait… I’d be ok with that last part

well, they had huge cap space, and they traded their moderately successful recent lotto pick for caruso.

they should run away with the 1 seed in the west, though, imo, so kudos for that.

they're also a big threat to get upset again.

Getting tired of the words pessimistic and negative when describing people who are calling this team exactly how the organization has presented itself. This team's roster construction is dog s***. They did nothing to improve the roster other than the allowance of their draft pick which was actually still given to them by the Pelicans in the end. They wasted all their time trying to appease that self-absorbed narcissist so they can draft his no talent son so they can have his hallmark moment to brag about. And to top it all off they hire a coach, whom has never coached anything before, on a team that doesn't have the talent to really give him a fair shot anyways, at being successful.

The only way this team succeeds is if everything goes perfect for 9 months. How often does that happen? Good luck and stop criticizing people for being negative when they aren't. This is on the Lakers, not us who have eyes and a brain to understand whats going on.

I don't disagree with some of that, and I can respect, a differing opinion on the subject. I don't think the current roster, is championship caliber either. That being said, I'm going to give everyone a clean slate going into this campaign. (Including Tinkerbell).

I do that because Lebron and AD are still All NBA players. I hope their time together this summer, can rekindle some of that synergy they had during the chip run. Back when Lebron made it a point, to cater more to AD, and keep him engaged on offense in the 2nd halves too.

If these guys are healthy, I think they are going to come out of the gate strong, and win us some games, we probably should have lost. I don't think that they can do this all season, and then take it up another notch in the playoffs tho. So I totally expect Rob to make a trade, depending on that trade, this could definitely become a Championship caliber team. Check back with me in December.

Our success or failure this season, will absolutely have nothing to do with Brony James. That's a sideshow, a good story, at the end of the day, we only burned a 2nd rd pick. We've hit on a few, and whiffed on others. I think he has more potential than Lewis, so I'm not tripping over drafting him.

i mean, you're definitely being negative, defeatist, downbeat, and cynical. it's not an inaccurate characterization of your posts for a while now, ox.

here's what i want: what's the thing we were supposed to do? which coach were we supposed to hire? who was the 55th pick that was going to become a long-term contributor to the franchise? which mediocre player did you want to trade a starter and two first rounders to get? i know you didn't want us to blow it all up, because then we'd be even worse, which is unacceptable in lakerland, right?

i get why people aren't excited. that's fine. this thread is for whining. but suggesting that anyone hoping to see good basketball is some sort of idiot is over the top.

I love the Lakers, but it is still just a game. Plus, life is about the journey. Simply winning is not everything it is cracked up to be. You have to earn it and the more dues you pay, the more you have earned it. Makes the winning that much sweeter. I will enjoy seeing some of our guys make advancements. If AR ascends, I will be a witness. If AD finally gets his due respect, I will be that witness. Got to see Lebron become the all time scoring leader while winning a ring for us. If he gets two, wow, but I will be surprised. Still think it is a possibility just not a likely possibility. Oh well, who ever said it should have been easy, was the idiot. So many wish for the Buss family to sell the team, but I have seen that fail for a franchise too. Remember when Frank McCourt owned the Dodgers?? Yikes. How about when Georgia Frontiere owned the Rams, another yikes. Things could be wayyyy worse. I am going to have fun watching the games, hope some of our other guys step up and pray for JJ to be the second coming of Riley, or better. If it doesn't happen, then oh well, next!!!

I've been a fan of the Lakers since 1966

Same with the Angels and the Kings (Blades)

2002 with the Angels, 2012 and 2014 for the Kings got championships and cherish them

Been through some low times with these teams, but never waiver my support and want them to win every game

The Lakers are on a different level, I have seen the lean and good times.

But with the Lakers I expect to win, not hope to win

It's a storied franchise akin to the Yankees

How many championships do we have?

    Not enough is my answer

And I can't stand anything Boston in any sport
