AR - 82 games played, 1 of 17 NBA players to play all 82. Only 6 starters did it, Austin isn't part of that group thanks to Darv. Still 1/17 is impressive. AD - 76 games played, most games he's played in a single season DLO - 76 games played, 3rd most games he's played in a season and the most since the 18-19 season Bron - 71 games played, most games in a season he's played since joining the Lakers. Rui - 68 games played, most games he's played in a single season Per statmuse Bron and AD played in 66 games together this year. Most they've played together (2nd is 19-20 with 59 games) since teaming up. Historically when you get THAT lucky, you're a top seed with an inside track to a championship. We are currently 8th, heading to the f***ing play-in tonight. We are not guaranteed a seat in the playoffs yet. That's flat out unacceptable. No ifs ands or buts.
We’re just not that good. We need lots of help, good fortune, voodoo hexes for opponents, etc if we hope to lengthen our playoff experience.
I'm going to whack people in the head next time I play pickup after they release the ball and tell them it's all good because it's allowed in the NBA. WTF was that reversal on Dlo foul call??
The moment continues to be too big for some of our guys and that’s why I’m okay with them being traded.
At the very least it's a loose ball foul, we get it side out. A friendly whistle would've been a flagrant 1. Instead the ball is given to Denver.
20 pt lead. russell sinking 3 after 3. lebron and AD playing at their usual level and they still blow it murray didn't even shoot well yet again and they still couldn't win. they could start the game with a 100 pt lead and they'd still blow it
it's weak thing to do but send that overturned foul on mpj to league for review, any contact is a foul on a shooter regardless of how much or "marginal" contact...that ref should be fined
Guess what, you can tackle people and it's not a flagrant, and hitting people in the head is not a foul. I get it, we lost but those type of plays can make or break a game.
I told you all in game time the 20 point lead was only going to make the loss more humiliating. Denver OWNS us, this is their time just like it was ours for our repeat with Kobe and Pau.
Many hours later that Game 2 loss feels like a gut punch. I have slight muscle soreness for no physical reason. It's psychological at this point. I actually thought that if the Lakers could get up 15-20 in the 2nd half and not have one of those sudden "deer in the headlights" stretches where their offense suddenly goes stagnant, that they'd finally break the losing streak - of 9 games - to DEN. But then they reached 74 points and went scoreless for almost 5 minutes and it was OVER. Murray's shot at the end HAD to happen, because the script for our games with DEN call for all kinds of variations on the theme: play your best ball, then sometime in the 2nd half, just cave or freeze up mentally as a team, and watch DEN lap up all the mistakes and convert them to a win. I know no one's forcing me to watch these games, but by now it's starting to feel like masochism, frankly. Losing streak: 10. It's a horror show at this point. Let's face it. It feels inevitable we'll play really well, look good, but falter at some point and that steamroller DEN team will take over. I have nightmares of needing a stop, getting it...but no: DEN gets an offensive board. Misses the shot! A stop! But no...offensive board again, whip it out to a wide-open MPJr at the arc and his form makes him look like a 3-making machine as it swishes. Just...hopeless. Disheartening. How did OTHER teams beat DEN? 'Cuz we certainly cannot... DEN protects the rim like muthuhs; the Lakers allowed a lot of easy baskets. All the games we play against them are good games by us, but they're never quite good enough. It's horrifying at this point. I now look at Game 3 with a slight sense of unease, a little nausea, like some crummy 1980s slasher flick where if I go to sleep I'll go back to that nightmare again. But this is us being awake and looking at, Groundhog Day-like, how are we gonna play a really solid game and still somehow choke it away? A lot of you are thinking - and I wouldn't blame you - that we get back to sea level and a home crowd, we win a game. At this point, I'm not so sure. Before the series I said I hope we don't get swept. I think we had it in us to win 1, maybe 2. Three seemed to be asking way too much. Now I think maybe we get swept.
I can easily see us getting swept but hope we don’t. I feel like AD deserves at least one win given how he has played.
It’s one thing if they hadn’t called that foul on DLO. It’s another thing for them to make the call and overturn it. that one is going to bother me for a long time.
three things sticking in my craw: that dlo reversal. one of the worst calls i've seen. that touch foul on lebron in crunch time that stupid play where jokic should have had a turnover and it turned into the mpj three (seriously, jokic had no plan, awful play) i realize we probably find a way to lose the game, but those plays just made it feel like the cosmic deck was stacked against us.
