I don't think anyone predicted this kind of start and we're only 3-3, but could easily be 5-1 or so and this team is only gonna get better and all three wins came against playoff teams from a season ago and the last two particularly have been impressive. On the road against a good Hawks team and then blowing out the almighty Warriors that everyone expected to blow us out. This team is playing the right way. It's night and day from last year. Ball movement, man movement, better communication, unselfish play, more energy and fight, more pace, better defense, and they just look like they're having fun. They're only gonna get better as the season goes on and they get more seasoned. Ingram and Russ have shown me nothing to convince me they aren't gonna be stars in this league and even guys like Julius and Clarkson are showing they have a high ceiling as well. The bench is fantastic and it was clearly a brilliant move to start Young who is playing well on both ends. Lou and Young are playing roles and playing them effectively. You're seeing the difference an excellent coach makes. He has them playing hard, the right way, teaching/coaching them, encouraging and communicating with them, and putting them in the right positions to succeed, and allowing them to play through mistakes. I honestly don't see why we can't make the playoffs. The West isn't that strong at the bottom in terms of the playoff seeds and this team is playing with confidence and they're just beginning. I'm not saying for certain that it'll happen, but I definitely see it as a possibility. Go Lakers!
Loved the win against GS tonight, love how we have some semblance of a identity out there, how we play, but we're not a playoff team...yet.
WIth a young team like this, im curious to see how they compete against a subpar team. Sounds weird, but if they can close out bad teams with the same intensity, im sold.
Too soon. Maybe after all star break we can really evaluate about the playoffsor not. But its fun to finally think of it again
Warriors looked flat on a back to back after an emotional win the night before. Give our team credit though for taking it to them. Warriors made some runs which we matched.
agree with beginning to now look at playoffs as a possibility. We're deep, big and our 2nd team rocks. As much fun to watch often as the starters. Like you say we're only going to get better. This team might just shock and amaze with how good it gets this first season with Luke and this staff.
We're still in the formative stages but in the Leastern Conference with these types of showings, we'd be jockeying for seventh, maybe as high as fifth.
I believe we have the collective talent to be a playoff team and the right system that suits the talent we have. The problem is that we don't have a bonafide superstar...yet. We have to do it by committee kinda like that 57 win Denver team did a few years ago. That's a tall order for a team that only won 17 games last year.
Yep ... We need a 23-25 wins improvement as 40-42 wins will be enough again this season to get the 8th spot imo .. The 6th to 8th spots are up for grabs ... too many questions marks about OKC, Mavs and Grizz . I think Utah will finally get in but no guarantee , then there are wild cards such as the Queens ( way better coach but they'll find a way to fail) , us and maybe the Wolves . Six teams for 3 spots ...
Top 4 spots are a lock, but the west doesn't look so scary anymore from the 5th seed down. Coulda beat the Jamz, beat the rockets and warriors. Just saying. Mavs are in so much trouble along with the Pelicans. Anyone wanna play around and see if can make a trade with them
Loving the ball movement & overall effort.. Defense needs improvement, but shows promise. If we establish more of a 4th quarter identity & learn how to close games, there's no reason this team can't compete for an 8th seed.
