Good move. Now its on the Lakers coaching staff and star players to get the best out of him for a winning effort.
As I said in the other thread, it’s a great move. He kind of reminds me of like the KCP (years back KCP when we first got him) of wings, he’s got potential, but he’s up and down, not a star, just a solid player. But he’s got great size, like height and he’s a big dude, he’s a better defender than Reddish. We aren’t losing a ton either, glad to see Nunn go, and while 3 second round picks is a lot, they’re very far our picks, and can be recouped very easily, you can trade cash for 2nd rounders.
We added a legit wing sized human! To give others an idea, here are some various comps when he was drafted: Jamison, Wilson Chandler, Jabari Parker
ok, so we got to keep our 2nd this year, and the 2028 is really just a 2nd round swap right. we really only lost one of our own seconds, the 2029. and really, it's only 2 2nds, not three.
mentioned in the other thread that he reminds me of a tobias harris starter kit. and we could use a tobias harris type.
From his draft profile in 2019 https://nbadraftroom.com/rui-hachimura/ https://www.nbadraft.net/players/rui-hachimura/
If he could hit the 3, he has a place in the league - otherwise another in the Stanley Johnson tweener on offense folks. If no 3 needs to be able to set really good screens and roll hard Not seen enough of him to have an opinion TBh but I hated Nunn so all good - hopefully they're not done making some moves
We just need his physical profile on this roster badly. I don't care if he gets 10-12 minutes a game. That's another 10-12 minutes I don't have to see midgets/cones out there...
i'm guessing the plan is to play him more like 25-30 minutes, possibly even start him. obviously not right away. but he could slot in as a 3/4 opposite lebron to help make our starting lineup less tiny and then slide to the 4 with bryant, russ, and the reserves.
