Our D was good and we were the ones for a rarity knocking down the 3s (while they were cold) PLUS only 6 turnovers. Max and Gabe continue to play well on D and within the offense.

I mean...it is true. Don't know if you heard during the broadcast last night, but Reggie dropped during the broadcast that behind closed doors Rob told them they're not moving the first unless it's for a long term piece. That is what Rob has been leaking to the media for months now. There's not a win now player on the market who's price is a first other than guys who we aren't going to be in play for regardless.

The roster being what it is today and the annual, Bron and AD have to prove themselves to us, has made it LOUD and CLEAR they don't believe in them and haven't in year. No matter what they do. No matter if they make it through the season injury free. Rob has not lived up his end of the deal of shepherding the end of Bron's career.

They're not trading Bron. He's going to retire here. But if we don't make real moves, I think AD decides to leave when Bron retires.

Here is why the front office will never move Bron:

The James family prints money for Jeanie. Keeps her husband from having to get a real job because he can't act and isn't funny (they had a cringeworthy pod ep together where they share this "cute" story about how he had to go on tour to afford her engagement ring).

I think it’s important to ask who are we not being aggressive for? Not willing to give Portland a 1st for Williams? Does Chicago think they can squeeze us out of a 1st for Vuc? Maybe we’re willing to give 1 for Kessler but Ainge wants another?

I can’t say, but all reports are we’ve at least been active exploring the market and Kessler is the only name we’ve been linked to that is worth a 1st. We don’t have the cumulative assets to go big game hunting, so it’s prudent to be judicious with the 1sts we offer while still weeks away from the deadline.

Instead of “Lakers aren’t being aggressive,” it could very easily say “Lakers haven’t been willing to overpay out of desperation.”

But the Bob Todd mocking and Rob being paralyzed with fear or asleep at the wheel recovering from Disneyland trips read a whole bunch better in many peoples' frustrations that a great deal hasn't happened. Yet (? who knows until the deadline). No offense Weez and just my opinion / of course you're entitled to yours ..... plus I honestly still do not know who that Dude is. :giggle: ;)

Don’t forget the real “Laker Tax” that exists.
I would use these firsts the same way Rob plans to. However, he can still get a serviceable big with seconds.

Poor Pelinka, how dare I question him and suggest he do his job, that he maximize having 2 stars as good as LeBron and AD. I’ll never understand going to bat for a guy as hard as some here do, that really IMO hasn’t done anything to earn that. Like I get defending his methods to a degree, not overpaying for stuff or being cautious, that’s fine, but there’s also a line to me between caution and just rarely making meaningful moves unless they “move the needle”, good teams have to take gambles sometimes. It’s again the Disney Star Wars analogy, the Lakers FO is only as special as the people running it, I have no loyalty to Pelinka. He hasn’t done anything to make me trust him, to make me trust he can make the right moves, to make me think he’s the right guy to be in charge of the eventual rebuild based on what he has shown he values in players so far.

All I want is for the greatest franchise in NBA history to have the best people possible running the show, not just someone who had ties to Kobe, or Magic, etc. I don’t see why me asking those questions or voicing concerns is always met with comments like this and reactions of this type. I’m about the Lakers being great, not about sticking up for the FO just because, and more often than not I’m going to side with the players unless our FO has someone unquestionably qualified and competent like we did with Jerry West. In the end I’m not even calling for Pelinka to necessarily be fired, I just want us to add to the staff, hire a GM to work with him so he’s not doing the job of 2 people.

Rob's on the clock..there are pieces on the market within our budget, I'm going to just wait and see what he comes up with. I might be in the Ox, Khmrp camp on February 7th, but I sincerely hope not.

How did I guess you’re so sensitive about this I’d get two paragraphs for my little 2 sentences. While acknowledging we have different opinions and it was a good natured tweak since I honestly don’t even know who the character is. I posted two quotes that I, myself agree with and think are accurate. You don’t even acknowledge any of it. Just want want want now now now, with one good move made and hopefully we BOTH find out there’s another coming in a very short period of time.
