Lakers aren't very well represented this year in The Athletic's Poll of 142 active players. Recommend reading it for the player quotes. if you don't have the Athletic, here are the poll results Kawhi? Nice to see the players don't see Rudy the same way the media sees him. BUT on the flip side, AD was reduced to the "also receiving votes" category. Shared with: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nicolas Batum, Patrick Beverley, Jimmy Butler, Anthony Davis, Kris Dunn, Wesley Matthews, Andrew Nembhard, Dennis Smith Jr., Matisse Thybulle, Derrick White, Andrew Wiggins. So it's not just the media who doesn't respect or appreciate AD. Only receiving .8% of the vote is astonishing to me. Hats off to Bron for players still seeing him as a franchise starter block at age (almost) 40 f*** you Gobert. AD having the same share of overrated votes as the Human Mosquito is a shamockery!
Bron also receiving votes Pretty tight race, but MJ still on the throne. Kobe painfully underrepresented.
Staples top 3 probably because of the celebs and every visitor shoots like Steph Curry when they play us there.
There were a couple more receiving votes (Tiger) and a slew under also receiving votes, but left them off. Not worth another screen shot
I fail to see how AD, Sabonis and Tatum are overrated. Or how SGA is underrated. Don't get me wrong, I think he's great, but he gets his props from pretty much everyone. People see him as one of the best players in the league. How is that underrated? AD not getting votes for the DPoY, Kawhi way too low on the list.... makes no sense. They did get it right with the GOAT(s) though (Pierce showing up on the list is some kind of internal joke, it just has to be), and with the guy no one wants to fight.
surprised embiid ended up that high on the "don't want to fight" list considering he's made of glass stewart should've been higher too considering he's legit bat**** insane
choosing paul pierce as the GOAT is like the folks that currently pick paul george as a top-tier dude. there has to be some joke i'm missing. both are/were very good players, but it's sort of ridiculous to even suggest...
