This why I listen to things that successful coaches like PJ or, Pops have to say. Can't be bothered hearing what Pringles thinks.
I dont hate D'antoni like some here. He has his glaring drawbacks, but he's a brilliant offensive coach. He just doesn't have all the qualities to be a good head coach. He's better served as an assistant, offensive coordinator role.
Too bad most people don't like D'Antoni... He's actually not a bad coach. He just wasn't the right one for the Lakers. But offensively, he knows what he is doing. Some plays he comes up with in the huddle are absolutely brilliant. I agree with Ras here. Put him on the right team, as an offensive specialist, and good things will happen.
I have never, ever liked D' Antoni. And you all know that well enough from my vitriol at CL. I was livid about us hiring him and he proceeded to be the worst coach I've ever seen for the P and G. Bar none. Much, much worse than Dull Harris. Worse than Mike Brown. Worse than Rambis. Worse than Randy Pfund. Just absolutely horrid.
D'Antoni needs to go back as an assistant coach. He had more success that way like when he was part of the Blazers coaching staff in 2000.
