yep. luka can play here because nothing scares him. just like lebron could do it. though lebron had to forge that over time, and luka's basically never been scared.

 

Exactly. Luka ain't never been scared. They just need to be better on the road. I'm sure it's still a thing of getting Luka and LeBron integrated together. New team and all of that stuff. Luka's needs to settle down though. He is trying to do too much right now and his percentages are bad. That will come with time.

It didn't take long after Luka came to the Lakers for the media "experts" to start sh***ing on him from all sides. Shocking, isn't it?

 

luka's defense is fine. his offense is historically great. he takes shots because he's the best at taking shots. deal with it.

going to be a lot of kobe parallels with luka here, as both have some devoted detractors and LOTS of fans who have watched them eviscerate their teams and are mad about it.

 

Yep. When you're a top 2-3 player in the entire league and arguably the best scorer who can scorch planets when you want, I want you getting up as many shots as you can.

Bron is also on the court BUT Bron is 40 and not trying to do all that in a random regular season game. Luka just turned 26, let him carry that weight.

 

Luka always tries to gauge how hot he's going to be with the three-point shot in the first quarter. I'm completely fine with it.

Luka, like most of our guys, is dog tired. You could see it clearly vs Orlando. These guys need 4-6 days of rest and unfortunately it’s not happening anytime soon.

 

yes, I mean I guess its obviously more highlighted in losses. In LOTS of our wins I've been complaining about his defensive effort in the gametime chat.

 

Please take the mid range shots. You don't have to do a ridiculous pass when you're basically at the rim.

That PnR with Lebron and Luka worked to perfection and then he threw it to DFS.

 

I don't know what to make about his defense.

There are ti.e when I think he looks legit solid even on an island and then games where it seems way to easy for guys to get past him.

Maybe fatigue related?

 

in this one, he did fine when they tried to isolate. he got roasted on closeout/switches. that was definitely carlisle knowing his weaknesses and having the right personnel (5 three point threats with 4 ballhandlers) to exploit it. same thing boston did.

against teams like that, you need to get it back on the other end--and you should be able to. we created a TON of open looks down the stretch, and finally rui canned a couple. but carlisle was daring anyone but luka to score at the end.

anyway, luka wasn't any worse than lebron, reaves, or even some guys on the team who are supposed to be out there to defend.

 

Luka’s defense has to be better. The effort just wasn’t there in those final two minutes his defense literally was a big reason the Pacers took the lead after Rui hit those back to back three’s. Teams are going to continue to attack him and he has to put up more resistance. Offensively he was great (as he almost always is) I think his defense has been okay for the most part, but there are stretches where he is just a flat out liability.
