That was really weird

Strange the way they ref Lakers games so anti Lakers

It's blatant

 

I see guys carry, or palm the ball in every single game and it’s never called.
If they really want to clean up the illegal dribbling, then fine, call it this way with everyone.

 

That's why I'm here for good.

 

Palming the ball, my god, have they (refs) ever seen Ja for example? Dude takes 2... 3 steps without a dribble. How do you guard that?

 

Never really watched Luka over the years unless he was playing against us. Underestimated how good of a defensive rebounder he is.

 

When you are fat and unathletic, you have to get good position

 

Also his defense has been surprisingly good

 

the carry is just such an obvious "we want to check this guy" call from officials. i mean, most nba players have their hand on the side of ball, moving it fully laterally in the air, on most possessions. luka is probably one of the less egregious offenders, too.

btw, instead of bringing back handchecking or whatever, calling carries (and moving screens) would do wonders for nba defense!

How many guys draw a triple team at behind 3? Luka. Steph. And? Not only that, the two who aren't guarding him have no idea what is going on around them. Their eyes are laser focused on Luka too. Koloko could be juggling baby squirrels and Richards would have no clue.

 

Luka has a lot of Kobe "A-holeness" in him. Dude takes everything personally and hates everyone on the other team. Love to see it.

 

I know it's early, but I'm thinking we may want to hold onto this guy.

 

See, what they realize is that if THEY were on the Lakers, THEY would get boo's. No doubt. But they are discounting that Laker fans have ALWAYS coveted Luka. We are notoriously hard on very good opposing players, but have actually been overwhelmingly in support of Luka since draft day. We are also pretty understanding of guys coming off injury and realize it will take him some time to get back to 100%. The real key point here is we traded him for Anthony F'ing Davis and you saw almost zero backlash. That super surprised me. I was a bit bummed at first but it literally only took me a couple of games to see all the extra intangibles that Luka brought and how, ultimately, it would be a bigger, more impactful, contribution.
