Therein lies the value of having a former agent as your GM. But, I want to know why there are immediate rumors of the best waived players going to Milwaukee and clippers, etc., but not the Lakers. Instead, we get a rumor of exploratory conversation in the future. Feels like players think their chances are better playing for the other top teams than the Lakers.

Well, their chances are probably better if the go to the Bucks. More or less the same on the Clips. Less mental pressure on the Clippers.

Too bad Vine died: those vines of Lebron ignoring Dion on the Cavs were hilarious.

Dude has talent but he's messed in the head. Funny thing is he actually would fill the hole we have in Rondo if you get peak Dion

he wouldn't be a bad addition at all

but all these 3 pt shooters stop shooting as well the second they become lakers so i expect the same would happen with waiters if they sign him

LMAO , just get Rondo injured and ride with the rest of the roster at this point .

A Caruso- Cook backcourt has a fine net rating , just play it way more

oh yeah, that's happening. i'd honestly bring back stephenson before i brought in waiters. but the one thing that's been clear since rob took over is that he values relationships above everything else. hard to argue with his results in that regard, even if some of the stuff along the way has been less than desirable.

This post was worth my visit to the site this morning. It never occurred to me, but I think you may have nailed one of Rob's real priorities here. Interesting to consider. Thanks.

I have to be honest here, I really don't know anything about Waiters' game. His stats don't dazzle that's for sure. Is he any good? Do we really cut someone to make room for him? Is it worth it?

Yes, he's very talented. A scorer and a distributor, he'd fit that role for us. His basketball talent was never in question - it's his attitude, his body language etc. AFAIK, Bron was not a huge fan of his approach to the game years ago. I don't know if that's changed in recent years.

He's not great at anything but he's a decent shooter, a decent game of the bounce/shot creator, not a bad passer. He's a tweener on defense and can't guard physical or wings with length well. He'd do well on this team as a backup PG assigned to create offense when Lebron is out.

The problem is he is arrogant and frankly, he doesn't strike anybody as the brightest lightbulb out there. Normally I'd say this is a guy Lebron can fix ala JR smith but as you noted Lebron had him shipped out pretty quickly in Cleveland for bigger guards in Shumpert and JR Smith. The rest is history as those Cavs teams were really good. However, he does fit in with what this team needs so who knows more then in Cleveland where they needed more defense at the 2 to match Irving at the 1

Hmm. Thanks for the info. I'm on the fence but he is a Klutch client so maybe he and Lebron are more on the same page now? Who knows, I'll guess we'll see what happens.

Watched him during his Cleveland days. LeBron really liked him but it never worked out. He's a ballstopper and takes poor shots. He can make them at times but I just don't see where he fits with our team. Defensively, he's just average and offensively, he's too streaky to be relied on. But what can you do when there aren't any options out there. Would be great if Reggie Jackson becomes available.

He isn't a perfect fit, but we desperately need a player who can create his own shot, if we can reel him in just a little and he is willing to give some effort on defense its an upgrade.
