I hope this is a joke. I like Dragic, but there are little more than a handful of NBA players worth 20 mil per year, and he's not one. Dragic at $20 mil isnt going to save our franchise.

Dragic's max is 18 million. So over the course of 4 years is a 80 million dollars contract over the life of that contract. Interesting...

If this does happen, I'm going to be furious.

Dragic shouldn't be making more than $10 million.

I was thinking he could be had for the $12-13m range. I figured someone would go as high as $15m to overcompensate for being an undesirable destination. But $20m?! New salary cap looming or not, that's ridiculous. If that's the price, I'd rather sign a couple guys to hold us over till the elite PGs become FAs. Give Felton and Nelson $6m each on two year contracts (Team Option) and wait for Teague, Rose, Jennings, or Lillard (don't think he'll leave Portland though).

Last year he averaged 20 and 6, this year 16 and 4. Those are good numbers, and he shoots a very good percentage, but the max for that? No way, I think $10-$12 mil per is more realistic. I'd rather sign another middle of the pack pg and use the big money in other places. I mean, dude has never even been an all- star.

I think he could get up to 15, he has a problem. Most teams dont need a starting PG, or dont want him(rebuilding), we have a problem that if we dont draft one, there is litlle left on the market-Rondo and he will be more expensive and is not better at this moment(i am a little biased here, i am from Slovenia).

I think I posted before that Dragic would get over 10m offers. I'm good with up to 12, but I'll join the "No!" Chorus at 18m a year.

I would trade the Houston 1st for him though. I still think he is a better match in the backcourt with Kobe than Rondo.

I agree on the price issue.

But don't hold the never an all star thing against him. No way he could be an all star in the West with Kobe, Curry, Harden, CP3, Westbrook, Lillard, etc, all ahead of him.

He is at least for next year, but the key is he's also a better fit for Randle and any potential lottery pick (besides a PG) because his versatility of the offensive end; he could shoot, play PNR, play off-ball, good floor general, getting guys in position where they are successful, etc. If Kobe did go down next year for any reason, we'd have somebody to initiate the offense. By the way, Clarkson could slide over to the 2 at times and we'd have a Dragic/Clarkson backcourt. That would be fun.

He could walk, and the Houston pick is a potential cheap rotation player, i would not do that trade.

One more thing: Lakers may be floating the report that they plan to offer him Max even if they have no intention of doing so. Suns are weighing whether they can expect to re-sign him. The rumor might motivate them to get serious about trade talks.

IF we do trade for him, I would expect him to immediately develop some nagging injury that would require him to rehab until next season.

Call me crazy, but if we get a top 5 lottery pick; along with our other draft picks to potentially address other needs on cost controlled rookie contracts, I'd sign Dragic to the Max.

That is the point-he can shoot-play PG or SG if needed, Rondo can not, just take a look at his shooting this year.

If we get Okafor or Towns, I would consider Dragic, but NOT for the max. I would throw the max at Rondo first.

26% free throws? Is that for real? How is that possible for a professional?

Not quit the max, but my plan is-would be.

We have a good bench if we retain Ellington and Davis. The problem is they are playing against starters.

We have 2 starters-Kobe and Randle(i would just throw him in the fire).
The 3 starter is our 1 pick.
We need 2 more starters for ca. 20-24 mil we have left in free agency.

That team could make a push for the playoffs and then Kobe comes of the books(and resigns for cheap), now you have a playoff team and cap space for at least 1 max contract...

I've seen some people argue that he's not worth the max or anything near to it; nevertheless, I think the difference between us and other potential suitors might be our willingness to offer him a max deal; other than Houston, who I think would max him in a minute...and in that case, we'd have to hope that Nash, our location, our history, and our current squad of to top 5 picks, and an emerging Clarkson, and the rest of our plan in FA to add pieces persuade him.

    2014-15 Regular Season 43 30.5 3.9-9.7 .404 0.5-1.5 .323 0.4-1.3 .309 6.3 8.7 0.1 1.6 2.3 3.1 8.7
This season he is at 40,32 and 31(on 1.3 attempts) i guess hi does not go to the rim, beceause there is no point in doing it...he is seen as an all star and champ...remember who was on the team he played.
He maybe can put a contender over the top(well see this year), but on a bad-mediocre team i would rather start Clarkson over him and spend the 20mil elsewhere.
