Flop compilations say otherwise, but this is about clicks, judging his athletic abilities, etc.

But I don't see Lebron as someone who can take a punch.

Oh totally agree. He didn’t want the pain of advanced football let alone UFC.

He can smell another ring with this roster according to what my neighbor's gardner's insider contact has told him. I believe it! Hell yeah. Balanced roster, size, talent all over the place and EVERYONE is getting after it this off season.

yeah, i don't know how it will all play out health-wise, but on paper, i think this is definitely the best team we've fielded since lebron got here.

really hoping with a full season of dlo, the continued emergence of reaves, and the addition of vincent, we can finally dispense with the lebron pound-and-three offense. i'd like to see basically zero such shots this season.

It sure does look very good, but I would argue the 2020/21 squad was even more formidable on paper.

YES! I am preparing myself for at least 5-6 such shots per game though. For a player with seemingly super high BB IQ, Bron does have a strange propensity for taking plainly stupid shots.

you're talking post-title marc gasol team? yeah, i'd put that one as a close second behind this one, with the title team third (again, all of this in theory not in practice).

my only concern is lack of depth at center, and i'm guessing we have ideas there.

i hope not. i really feel like some of that came from having some pretty sketchy options in terms of shot creation and shooting on the perimeter (*cough*russ*cough*). but maybe he just loves the bad shots...

Not at 39 that's for sure! In fact no one has. It's absurd. Look, I used to hate on Lebron but the guy is unworldly. If he gets two more rings I'll give him the GOAT. Until then it's Kareem's crown for me. But Lebron is making his case. More so than Jordan for me. He's in third. He quit the game in his prime to play minor league baseball. GOATS don't do that. He did not have the longevity of career as Kareem or Lebron.

all depends what your definition of GOAT is

Is it the longevity, longevity plus best peak years, number of championships, record in championship series, wins against 50+ win teams, etc etc.

so subjective. He's an All Time great for sure, but if I needed one guy to take over and take "THE SHOT", he's not it. He will never be the GOAT to me. GOAT of the genetic lottery and longevity? ok, sure. But to be THE GUY, you can't have fricken flop compilations and cheat the game like he did for years. That was embarrassing.

i'd think we will at least see less of them. I don't know what made him fall in love with that shot, but LeBron generally makes the right basketball play. I think he will give up the rock with no issues if guys are hitting shots.

This constant need in the media to argue about who the GOAT is just frustrating for me at this point. I feel like the NBA is the only sport that does this all the time. Also feel like the NBA is the only sport that feels the need to constantly trash its current players in favor of old ones. They can't ever just seem to appreciate a current guy who is good. It's always about dragging out someone, anyone, from the past to diminish the guy and I just don't get it. This has to generate ratings otherwise they would stop but I don't know anyone who actually likes this kind of content.

At some point, the NBA really has to learn how to promote its product and work with its media partners to present a better image of the current game. We're seeing multiple good young guys putting on a show in USA basketball. The focus should be on that. If they can't think of a story there then just talk about football or something else.
