I wouldn't go anywhere, I would just be pissed at my team. Same as I was when we hired Potato Head and then Pringles as our coaches, and tried to retain Dwight Howard in free agency with those embarrassing "Stay" billboards. I'll never stop being a fan, but signing LeBron would be my toughest test ever, deep in my soul I'm not sure I'm capable of ever truly rooting for him.
Oh wow sorry no harm intended. I haven't had occasion to try to even think of such a word. Ever really to make any point I had. Until now. Honest. That was my view of what our young players become with the Lakers drama & news back. The LeBron story and merely good "role players".
I was in really, really foul mood until I came across this thread and started reading... It really lifted it off and I'm able to laugh. Oh and uh...it's never going to happen.
I disagree. There's a whole range of fan enjoyment following teams that's over and above winning the chip. For many. Clearly for some the chip is only thing. I' d rather see "our team", Paul George and any other star players win than watch LeBron add to his career now as a Laker because he likes our team now. F*** him.
Because he is a self-absorbed, self-obsessed, stat whoring, flopping, whining more than winning, HGH-Steroid inflated, 4th quarter shrinking, self-excusing, super team dependent, posing, preening knucklehead. Other than that he's not so bad.
He didn't say that. He said he'd rather him not join the Lakers, but if he does join, of course we end up rooting for the team first.
So I've been pretty disappointed in myself lately because it's not as easy for me to hate on Lebron anymore. I'd welcome him here because he's one of the greatest of all time and immediately makes us title contenders. But at the same time I do miss hating him. It would be REALLY fun to watch him go to the Clips to team up with CP3 and Blake, but kept getting shut down by the Warriors. While our young core continues to develop and is ready to strike after Golden States time is up.
You've got to play the odds here. LeBron joining would stain the brand, and won't provide, let's be real here, a championship within his remaining career (2/3 years?).
