Charles has a bad memory. While it’s fair to say any player 20 seasons in is declining, he was what? 27/8/7 or something crazy?

I think he does two more years. Year two is the farewell tour. Next year I think he wants to win unless he’s toasted from the Olympic run.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall while LeBron and AD discuss whatever sport Westbrook was playing in the Mavs series, wondering wtf they were thinking that fateful night in 2021.

The thing that needs to be discussed about LeBron isn't how good he is for how long he has played, the question to be asked, is he good enough to lead us to a championship? He has clearly shown that to be a no. He could be the second or third cog if he would accept that role, again, so far he has shown he won't. We need a strong coach and a top tier point guard to save LeBron from himself. IMO LeBron could be a major piece to a championship team but he isn't that dude. I know some of you think it silly to doubt LeBron...lol. but he has shown who he is. He had rather lose with the spotlight on him than win with it on someone else.

Harsh but true. It’s why many stars retire with plenty in the tank. If they can’t win as top dog, they don’t want to be there. They struggle to adjust to any other role. With rest, they still show flashes of greatness, but it’s unsustainable.

Dude is still unbelievable offensively, but he’s not an alien- there’s just not enough energy to play defense as well.

Kinda disagree a lot. He was clearly happy most all trips up the floor during the season whenever it was working and DLO and/or AR were playing well enough that we are winning games with him taking lots of breaks of him not having to be the PG. Like all great players he gets antsy if it’s not working and time is running out on the game or certainly the season, and thinks he has to take over. Too bad neither WAS a Kyrie or the suspect outside coaching decisions also wasn’t contributing to the dire situations in the Denver series or going past that.

one of our stars is near 40 and the other is an old 30. it's going to be increasingly hard to compete that way. i'm sure that's why we're star hunting this summer, but younger stars of this quality (basically luka, ant, SGA) simply aren't available right now.

it happens. we've got to cycle out for a bit.

sorry to be repetitive, but this is why our coaching search doesn't interest me very much.

I mean he's been doing this for two decades, seen everything, and has logged 68,455 minutes on the court between regular season and playoffs. Mostly as the lead decision maker on the court. There might be 4 coaches in the entire league who he thinks know anywhere close to what he knows and he thinks he knows best. Unless it's a pull up 3 for himself against the clock, my money is on him being right.

The coaches we've given him think xs & os are reserved for tic tac toe.

So while he's around at the salary and role that he's at, I'm in favor of getting someone who lines up closer to the way he sees the game. I don't think it matters after that because that coach is likely gone soon after anyway. I see us more likely heading for another rebuild after him and those babysitting coaches rarely make it through the process.

I bet whatever Bron drew on that board is better than Ham's version:

after seeing that footage of ham sort of fumbling through a whiteboard play, i'm quite certain lebron's play was equal or better.

i also think lebron would grab the clipboard from popovich.
