Man, I'm going to miss this show terribly when this final season comes to an end. The characters and writing have been so rich. Thoughts on the season so far? Spoiler: Observations so far I think they did a great job with the baddies this year, something last year was really lacking. Sam Elliott is great in this world as Markham. I'm a big fan of Hillahunt (Ty Walker), too...he just exudes creepy. Choo-Choo outshined them all though. From how to got the name to how he died...in front of a train. Perfect. That said, I hope they push Boyd to the forefront in the final handful of episodes. He's a gem on this show and he and the mine are a minor story with everything else going on.
Regarding Choo-Choo and last night's episode Spoiler: Choo-Choo I was reading a recap and stumbled across this bit of hilarity regarding his name and his death... One of my favorite quotes of the night
I didn't read the spoilers because I'm an episode behind on my DVR. Agree 100% on already missing this show. One of my all time favorites and Raylan & Boyd are two of the best TV characters of all time. Always been a Sam Elliot fan, so I was pumped they added him this year. I like the tension between Boyd and Ava this season. They were a bit too comfortable before she went to prison. Loved the recent breakfast scene with Raylan and Art.
Still my favorite show on TV. I was sad that this was the last season too, but a friend that loves the show as much as me reminded me that shows like this just go downhill if they go on too long (see X-Files), so it's better to have it end on a high note and have it go out as our GOAT rather than degrade. And yeah @JSM that line was fantastic. I swear every episode there's at least one line worth repeating
Good episode. Only 5 left. Spoiler Ava is screwed. Her cover is blown, her CI deal is gone, and she turns down Boyd's $50k. RIP Ty Walker, he was a damn good character. Dangling the $10m carrot in front of Boyd was a clever $50k ploy by Raylan. Guarantees that he makes a play for the money.
Loved that GIF line in this episode. It was a great wink to all the fans, and in the context of the show it was Raylan telling Boyd that the only way this can end is with Boyd dead at the other end of Raylan's gun.
if you didn't know how good of an actor the guy that played Dewey Crow really is, listen to his real accent and find out. Spoilers if you haven't seen this season: I was really surprised at his accent
Um....... WTF? I just saw this week's Justified!! This is going nothing like I expected Spoiler: This Week's episode So I guess there's no big showdown between Raylan and Boyd... even though I assume Boyd survived the gun shot
Spoiler Yeah, there were so many double crosses and x working for y going on in the episode...not what I expected. I didn't think Duffy's driver would betray him and I sure as hell didn't expect Ava to make that play. From the preview to next week, looks like Boyd and Raylan's next showdown is while Boyd is on a hospital bed. Unless he leaves without the hospital's permission, there will be no showdown. My guess is the next dead is Boon (I think that's his name), I don't think he'll be wearing his new cowboy hat for long.
Very good setup episode for the showdown(s). Spoiler Poor Mikey. He put up a hell of a fight though. Favorite scene of the episode had to be
So much happened this episode I don't know where to begin. I can't wait to see the final showdown between Boon and Rayland. Their banter back and forth and the intensity of every scene they're in together is just fantastic!
This might have been the best episode of the season. So many good segments. After the Mikey scene my wife said, "Wow, that was intense!" The Boyd decision with Carl was good, because they had made Boyd almost too likeable this last season. The last scene with Raylan and Art was my favorite.
Spoiler Carl isn't the brightest bulb. Boyd just gave you up to the feds. You think a gun shot wound and being cuffed to a hospital bed is going to magically change that to the degree of him giving you $5m? Come on! Boyd sold the hell out of it. I'm pretty sure he could talk himself in/out of nearly any situation.
Only one left . There's a hell of a lot to tie up in the finale. I wish they would've gone the route of SOA and made the final episodes 90 minutes. Favorite line of the episode came from Boyd. Spoiler
