Not clear other than BFF reasons. Granted she has been there in the organization for as long as Jeannie. But we just don't really know much about what she is doing now.
A @Toklat sighting …. come on chime in on our new 6’8” 7’2” wingspan 235lb athletic can create his own shot tweener forward.
I was watching a clip with Shaq kinda downplaying the Rui trade. Saying he didn’t even know who Rui was because he doesn’t have time to concern himself with non-top 10 players. He then followed it up and talked about how if we’re going to be trading with Washington, it should have been a trade for Beal instead. This is exactly why Jeanie needs to surround herself with experts, NOT rely on advice from former legends she’s close with. (I know there is no evidence that Jeanie has been influenced by this specific line of thinking from Shaq so I don’t want to blow things out of proportion)
...and that's what makes someone an "analyst" these days. I understand Shaq is there for entertainment only, but come on. He makes roughly 10 million per year from TNT and that is his contribution?
Would be silly to expect Shaq to invest his time and effort into watching film and studying analytics. He didn't do that when he was playing... His lazy a** continues to skate on talent alone.
i mean, yes, but at some point you can judge it by its lack of health, right? i mean...if we traded for porzingis tomorrow and he missed half of next season, can we blame fate?
Jeanie is not dumb. And she’s not wrong actually. That’s not to say the roster couldn’t be a lot better without the impossible one to move without getting screwed to do it. Team hasn’t been whole all year with the “best” of its key players all healthy at the same time for any length of time.
My take is (and this is multiple interviews now where she very carefully yet pointedly talks about AD’s health), that if it’s that big of a concern, we shouldn’t be building around AD. Like in a previous interviews she’s talking about he needs to get healthy, listen to and follow his doctors orders, like ok yeah, I get it he’s great, but if you’re so paralyzed to making moves dependent on his health, you’re not gonna be making moves then because he can go down at any time. Move on from him if that’s the attitude, rebuild.
i think she just realizes how hard it is to get someone that good--from the years of not being able to and from how hard it was to get him even AFTER he basically demanded a trade here. that's hard to let go of. embiid's never played more than 68 games in a season, and that's his abnormal high, tbh. but you don't see philly cashing out, even if it *might* actually be the safer move. because if he's there for the playoffs this year, they might get a ring.
In the years following the title, AD has played 36, 40, and 27 games so far this season. It’s not really the same thing as Embiid to me, he does get banged up a lot, yes, but he’s been more available than AD.
