Hey Brian, we got a chip a few years ago, go pick on James Dolan ok? That dipstick hasn't taken his team to any championships under his leadership and they made 1 playoff appearance in the last 10 years, a 1st round exit. The Lakers have had 6 titles since James was placed in charge of the Knicks which is 27%+ the percentage of all titles since then, almost 1/3. +15 playoff appearances in that span. James Dolan has the biggest income of any team and regardless of performance and utter hatred of Dolan by fans I don't see any part of the Knicks for sale so stop with your lame a$$ clickbait and go find a real story.

So hold on... Jeanie didn't want to do the Indy deal because Russ accepted and embraced a role that he had yet to shift to? During training camp, pre-season, and the start of the regular season Russ was still an ill-fitting starter. Someone in the front office is using a fancy crayon in trying to color a better picture than the accurate one depicting their sheer incompetence.

source of the leak is interesting here, too, as whoever it was wanted folks to know jeanie was at least part of the resistance to the indy trade.

Hmmm, I've heard on TV from one Magic Johnson that Pelinka is a snake.

Henry please tell me you didn't side with Magic in that deliberate sabotage he carried out against the Lakers with the sudden quitting in a nasty public manner, all the way through the AD trade and free agency and hiring of our new coach .... he embarked upon .... out of spite, because he probably heard that Rob let some people know he was frustrated trying to get stuff done, while Magic was too occupied with his other businesses to be timely in his approvals or answers as Rob's boss? Pot meet kettle, Magic, in calling someone a snake during that period of time.

LOL @abeer3 just clued me in I may have missed some tongue in cheek tone there Henry. Sorry if so and would agree.

thought henry was being tongue-in-cheek there.

and yeah, magic the executive was like having an angry drunken moose just randomly showing up and dictating things. he was on record as being the primary voice in a series of horrific decisions that are all attributed to rob. but nothing that bad has happened since.

still hate that kurt rambis, his wife, and whoever the hell tim harris is have such big voices, though.

that's all on jeanie. if we're going to bag on chaz the bartender, linda the cocktail wife needs to be in the conversation.

I hate they have voices AT ALL. Kurt Rambis would not have an NBA job in any capacity anywhere else. Here, he's at the top of the food chain. Linda, the report last year was there were others in front office that didn't know what she did. Other than being Jeanie's BFF and a decent paper pusher, I'm not sure she's qualified for much more in a professional sports team. Apparently, from some of the reports coming out this year, seems Harris has more power/influence this year than in years past. For better or worse. Why a soccer goalie is at the big table for basketball decisions. ... I can't. Front office structure is such a joke.

There’s a lot wrong with our front office. And Magic no longer has a title but he definitely still has a voice.

it’s just a mess right now.

it's been a mess the whole time, basically since jerry west left, tbh. we coasted on some stuff, but our whole structure is just stupid and unproductive, imo. and that's on jeanie. she needs to take it upon herself to learn how other teams operate and try to employ some of that here. i feel like we're run very differently than many teams, and not in a good way.

It helped that Mitch was his shadow for decades. Until the league passed Mitch by. And we had Dr Buss until his health began to plummet.

For these kids to have been groomed under him, watching him, waiting for their turn. It seems like they slept in class or weren't paying attention. The youngest two are the only ones who seem to be half way qualified and Jeanie will never step out of the way let that happen. Hell, they just now just invited to the adult table.

Another gripe: Rob came into this franchise as a rookie (leaving thoughts on performance out of this). When someone new is in a significant position and they have zero experience doing that job, smart business is to employ an advisor/ assistant who can show him the ropes. A Jerry West/Yoda type. Jeanie gave him Magic Used Car Salesman Johnson who never showed up to work. Then gave Rob an even bigger role that he has no previous experience with and his only sound board with any experience is Kurt f***ing Rambis?! All Kurt is qualified to do is get punched in the face. Repeatedly.

We are run differently. We're ran like a mom and pop general store. Not a real business. Not a real sports team. And especially not one of the most valuable teams in all of sports. It's an embarrassment.

Definitely tongue in cheek. The ownership has been a joke, like a season on Succession ever since the late great Dr. Buss passed away. RIP.

I’m just so pissed off at Jeanie. All she has to do is hire competent, intelligent basketball minds to run this thing. Instead, she decides to continually operate at a major disadvantage by only hiring her friends.
It’s a true embarrassment to what her Father built.

yeah, i think the problem was that people viewed dr. buss's hires as his friends/insiders, but i think they became his friends after he hired them for the acumen. i wonder if the problem wasn't that jerry west was a laker, so it felt like an in-house tradition. but bill sharman was a C bag, for example. i know cooke hired him, but the family should have seen up close that our success wasn't built fully by just going with the folks we'd been around.

I don't know how to send an image of someone's tweet here but I read that Jeanie Buss now officially has the lowest net worth of all 30 NBA owners. Just thought that was a fun little nugget.

    Jeanie is priceless.

She hugs hurting players n stuff.

Can't buy that kind of ownership.
