From listening to stuff about him and the others half the day, it sounds like he can’t shoot, but he’s a major energy guy and he can defend 1-4, so it’s a great get, there’s our wing defender, situational defender.
He's a defensive specialist, doesn't need to shoot much. Defending multiple positions and hustle plays, that's what we need from him.
svtzr is right to liken him to gabriel, but where gabriel is more 4/5, i think vanderbilt is 3/4. those wanting a wing stopper type defender should be happy, as that's his value. and no, he's not much on offense. still, though.
Dude is scrappy. Good percentage buckets, a little too tough and sloppy at times. With that said, he's a guy you kinda just want on your team. He's gonna make great plays defensively.
The Philadelphia 76ers haven’t made a move yet, but one guy they had their eyes on, Jarred Vanderbilt, is now off the board
I followed the Wolves/Memphis series last year, which was pretty entertaining. I thought the combination of Vanderbilt and McDaniels was a big reason why the T-Wolves were in those games. Dlo, Towns and Edwards were all inconsistent from game to game. But defensively they could rely on a rotation of those two, along with Beverly. Now we have two of those guys, with AD. Hopefully it translates here.
Yeah I would love for the Lakers to go back to being a defensive team. Sure they don't have the personell to be a defensive monster, but they could be pretty good on that end - it's on Ham now to put more emphasis on that end and adjust his rotations accordingly.
