I heard a lot of mixed reviews, but it was so great. The mixed reviews de-hyped the hyped up movie, but i watched it yesterday and i could not keep my eyes off it and i wanted more after it ended.

Most bad reviews i've seen were people that just couldn't understand the movie at all. For an average person, it was great. Maybe if you're too well educated with physics and such it might now, but when the hell did any Sci-Fi movie stick with the laws of physics? They did a great job on this one. Its definitely a classic, something that entrances you.

After the end i wanted more, even though a sequel probably wouldn't be that great, but you just wanted more, and made you research a bit into space afterwards too. I mean it was great they actually put things into play where as star wars, star trek, and other sci-fis just pretty much travel faster then the speed of light, without a real explanation (but i do believe star trek had an explanation but lol they're all theories so thats all besides the point, but I'm no expert at all, just know a very very rudimentary knowledge of einsteins theory of relativity)

Actually all the physics were sound. Kip Throne was their physics advisor and credited as producer I believe. If you're interested, read his book - "The Science of Interstellar". Time dilation is a known fact. Satellites in space have software to adjust for time dilation (since their time is faster relative to us on earth). Wormholes theoretically exists within known laws of physics (its more of an energy issue of how to sustain it). The only thing that is scifi I would say is what happens inside the black hole singularity since we flat out dont know as we don't have a "theory of everything". That is, general relatively works for everything macro, and quantum mechanics works for everything on the atomic scale. But since a singularity is both massive and small, both laws break down and we get nonsensical answers.

It's funny this thread was made at this time because I just re-watched it again last night for the 5 time now and still loved it. But yes, there is nothing quite like seeing and movie that you really love for the very first time. No matter how long its been since you last saw it its never as good as the first.

Anyone else feel the movie lost them at the very end (I don't know how to do a spoiler alert)? Too much and too much like trying to figure out what Kubrick had on his mind at the end of 2001 A Space Odyssey? Raises hand. Didn't suspect it was as deep as Stanley's thoughts and a long WTF moment for me. Otherwise good movie.

Yeah it definitely jumped into a different kind of movie when all of a sudden they're in some 5th plane of existence. For it was a little weird. Not bad, but just made my brain hurt a little bit.
