Problem. Solved. The Lakers are flying Ater Majok, their 2011 draft pick, from China to LA for a workout. http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/235526/Lakers-Bring-In-Ater-Majok-For-Workouts He's averaging 4.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks for Tsmoki-Minsk in 18.2 MPG. Photo: Bobby Davis
I sure hope it's a problem solved. Sacre is useless and we need some size out there badly in the worst way.
I remember him being drafted, because he has a pretty unique name, which I never thought I'd hear again.
A guy who made a hair of a contribution, couldnt start, in China, to come in here, the NBA and give us some minutes? lol.
He's a Center. I don't see the need either unless we're already planning on making some moves or cutting someone.
All jokes aside. He actually looks like a decent reserve lol. Plays on same Chinese team as Jason "White Chocolate" Williams and T-Mac. Looks very fluid for a big guy and has a decent jumper. Heres a quick recent video.
Majok By the Numbers 2012 Summer Ball (49 minutes of play time) 3.1 scoring (really low; no current Lakers is this low) 0.7 passing (really low; like didn't dish an assist low) 3.8 hustle (really high; like Davis/Hill high) BIG Rating: 49 International Ball - 2013/14 (426 minutes) 5.7 scoring (in line with Ed Davis) 1.5 passing (very low; Wes Johnson low - lower than all other bigs) 3.5 hustle (high; higher than everyone other than Hill and Davis) BIG Rating: 81 He might have the ability to step in and be a backup big in the NBA. In fact, even as bad as he was in Summer Ball, he'd likely still be on par with Sacre. My thought is that he's a high energy player who blocks a decent number of shots, is a decent rebounder, and he doesn't score very much. A poor man's Hill/Davis.
