You are already using it though. Self roasted Ox tails might be delicious.

Interestingly no mention of JJ at all, and Woj also says we’re “nowhere close” to a decision yet

I trust all the other smoke around JJ being the lead candidate more than I do Woj here though.

Could see this coming from Rob in an effort to make it appear that we’re still doing due diligence and seriously considering all candidates, when in actuality he’s just waiting for the Finals to end to sign JJ

Or maybe JJ Redick is the smokescreen? We could be looking at a guy, that is on board with JJ as an assistant.

Folks are continously surprised or shocked by Rob Pelinka's moves. They say Rob doesn't talk.

Woj isn't plugged in with us. I take what Haynes and Shams say more seriously when it comes to the Lakers because they've historically been closer with Klutch. That said, "nowhere close to a decision" sounds like what you would say if you were waiting for Reddick to be done calling the Finals, but wanted to keep up the appearance of a search. They may have told Borrego that he's interviewing for the HC spot, but they're probably thinking of him as a potential assistant.

Hey man..I wouldn't take Lebron's lukewarm endorsement or AD's silence on this HC search lightly. Just saying

Yep. I'll listen to Stein, Haynes, Shams, Buha, and Irwin over Woj going rogue.

Some updated reported from Woike in his earlier article today. We get a mention of some additional assistants being considered. Brooks, I've been in favor of this one for awhile and wondered what the hold up there was. After Stott, he's the former HC with the most experience who's gettable. And FINALLY... we have a mention of Rondo!

I like the direction they're looking with assistants. Obviously we're not going to get them all. Some will depend on our HC, some on what the coach's current team is willing to offer to get them to stay.

Got to bring Handy back as well. The longer it goes no one else has signed him after we let him go the better it maybe is for our chances of that happening?

Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but interesting wording in this article.

“Meetings related to the head coaching vacancy”

“Rumors of the Lakers staffing plans”

“Another name commonly mentioned in staffing discussions”

With Rondo, Scott Brooks, and Greg St. Jean as the new names mentioned.

Gives me the impression that all these names, including the Borrego meeting, are primarily being looked at as options for assistant coaches

Damn I forgot about Dudley. I did think of him as assistant coach material.

The media seems to be pushing hard on this Redick HC idea. So they can turn around, and crucify that decision immediately after it's made IMO.

Edit: Damn JSM beat me too it…

    Did anyone post this yet?

    LA Times:

“Rumors of the Lakers’ staffing plans have run throughout the league during the past two weeks, with some names most commonly mentioned including former head coach Scott Brooks and assistants Sam Cassell and Jared Dudley. Cassell spoke to Pelinka about the Lakers’ head coaching position during a video call prior to this week, according to a person with knowledge of the conversation. Ex-Lakers guard Rajon Rondo has also been under consideration.”

So Rondo is in considerations for assistant! Great!! If he can keep his temper and attitude right, he could be an incredible asset.

Agree about Rondo. Adds a little moxie, too.

I think Brooks has car some dealerships he his business partners with Westbrook on in Southern CA and may have a house out here. This was awhile go. I like Brooks. Would be good.

I think the staff is looking solid. IMO.
