Oh yeah. That could be true. Not sure if he can be discussed right now. I’m definitely hoping we figure something out there.
It's honestly the same situation as Paul George. The Clippers absolutely cannot afford to lose him for nothing because a) you don't get cap space if he leaves since you're already over the cap and b) even if you gain an MLE, you won't get a player anywhere close to the production that PG13 provides We are in that same situation unfortunately....we really need to just re-sign him to a deal that is reasonable and then if we need to, we'll trade him later. We gave up picks to get DLO so we don't want to let that go to waste.
I'd MUCH rather dump Vincent/JHS/2 picks for an impact player than let DLO walk and then be stuck with Vincent/JHS as your only point guards. Sure, we might get lucky and get Dinwiddie to re-sign for a discount, but I still think letting DLO just walk is just horrible asset management
I thought it was a good intentional make-up line that he saw AD as a top 5 defensive player in the world.
First time I’ve really heard him speak at length and field questions of course from the media that was present. I like him a lot and the mentality he’s bringing. Why the “first rate @**hole” label?
I still can't get over the report that Pimple didn't prepare for the games... Was he planning to use his quick wit? WTF?!?! So... in that regard, by all accounts, JJ is going to be a vast improvement.
Just seems like a guy who’ll get in your @**. Like I said, that stuff works for some coaches, and wears thin with others.
180 opposite of what my impression was from what he was saying. I expect him to work hard on the individual relationships to instill more confidence in players and shooters with them being more intelligently put into positions to better succeed, including the younger players’ developmental processes.
Talk is cheap, but the dude sure is good at it, with a few exceptions. Only thing I didn’t like were the F-bombs. Dude didn’t know that he was on TV and Rob usually throws in parables in these types of settings? Read the room, dude.
I agee Cookie, don't imagine many are buying that. Even by some remote chance it is true no one would believe it. Do you like the hire?
Both of these give more insight than I expected. -AD is a top 5 defensive player in the world. - expands on AD's hub usage with DHOs and cutters (Bron off ball) - front of the bench for experienced assistants, back of the bench for younger hungry assistants - where he was when he agreed to the deal... that's cool and then immediately went to talk to Coach K about it in his office. How many people get that chance? - he wants the pressure and makes him feel alive - clear and concise rules and communication on D wasn't there (AD and others blasted Ham for that last year). Should have a top 5-10 defense with AD on the roster and we didn't last year.
