Hayes +12 Len +8 but JJ goes with 20 minutes of small ball even though the team was playing terrible in that set

Swapping AD for Luka changes completely the way we play. I think he's doing well in experimenting different looks so he can see what works the best for the important part of the season.
Yes, we might add a couple losses in the process but it will improve our chances when it matters. In NBA there's barely any practices so there's literally no other way.

I think he'll do this for the next 10/15 games to understand what combinations work better, what players play better in different scenarios, how to counter specific matchups, etc.

JJ has been awesome. I fully trust his judgement because he proved he deserves it. He even won the Rui/DFS argument. We were 10-1 before the game with Utah with that lineup, so it makes no sense to change. DFS is already playing a ton. I also think he doesn't want to overload DFS now and that he will be a +38mpg come playoff time

Ah, I think we will be top5 in 3s attempts the rest of the season. We had 26 at half yesterday, while averaging around 30 for the year. It's a completely different team now. It's JJ's view too, based on his podcast comments. I hate it to be honest, it is so lazy basketball. But Boston won it and it's the way the league is played, so what can you do...I just hope we add some movement, flair and different dynamics instead of dribble, pick and shoot or pass and shoot.

can you play small ball with Luka? Going to be tough as teams are going to matchup hunt him and if he gets beat off the dribble how are you going to stop the lob/dump off threat. The amount of scrambling you have to do if you double, etc is very taxing

I hope he rests like 4-5 guys vs. Denver... screw with Malone and the NBA.

the more Stephen A speaks the more you realize he knows nothing about basketball despite claiming to be a basketball expert. Darvin Ham was awful. We made the WCF in SPITE of him not because of.

ok...i have questions. so, prior to 2 months ago, your thought was that you can overcome not playing hard with math?

btw, if jj actually discovered a method to make people play hard, he might win the nobel prize. as a psychologist, i can say that it's really hard to do this formulaically.

i also wonder if just replacing dlo with dfs did a lot of the work for him.

that and later breaking up lebron and AD, who both liked to cruise and set that example, imo.

i thought it was strange and perhaps telling that jj's comments after last night were about lebron's effort and how amazing that was. was that just an observation? was it meant as reinforcement? was it also meant for luka's ears?

yeah, i still remember him switching the lineup before the series started. just weak, weak sauce. i can remember when another famously s***ty coach (avery johnson) did something similar and helped his team lose to an 8-seed in a year they won 67 games.

TBF playing the game at a high level isn't a pre-requisite to understand it and be a great coach.

With that said, Screaming A is a moron.
