    few things here:

    1. but i was told you can't win with vanderbilt playing! i agree with jj that you can and teams do.
    2. he was asked about rui but did not talk about him.
    3. he implies vando still isn't ready to go which is...not good.

I like how he frequently mentions collaboration with the staff and players. That's a positive thing when you're a leader of a group, there's very little things you do in your own. It's how you bring everyone together and let different specialists of their areas to lead their bit of the program.
Yeah, it was a nice understanding of Vando's game. There's still 2 months to go to training camp but yeah it's not great that he's not healthy

I liked jj noticing Austin wasn't in good enough shape and basically told him to get to work.

LOL. Now's it's top 3? Was top5 two days ago.

Just come out and admit that you understand nothing about defense and weren't even stat watching (since AD crushed those).

JJ is a moron. I decided.

Team weighed havily on individual defensive awards?

    Damn idiot.

Same thing a lot of opposing scouts said last season. Let's see if Reddick will have any more luck, reigning in the Kang, whenever he decides to scrap the gameplan, and do whatever he wants.

    Good luck with that.

Yeah, there was a time during the season that we were actually better defensively without AD.
I think is argument is arguable but at least he has one. We don't have to agree all the time

if you are so great at defense, how does your team barely make the playin? These are legitimate questions.

AD was our entire defense last season, it’s a miracle he played 76 games. JJ leaving AD off of his top 2 defensive teams is not defensible. He had Bam Adebayo, Victor Wembanyama, Rudy Gobert, Alex Caruso, Herb Jones, Jarrett Allen, Jalen Suggs, Derrick White, KCP, and SGA all over AD. I’m sorry, yeah we all get an opinion and don’t have to agree, but I question your judgement as an analyst and how many Laker games you actually watched if that is your list. He’s our coach now so I hope he’s actually smarter than that, but it was funny seeing him try to walk that nonsense back. How’s he a top 2-3 defender in the NBA but not in your top 10 voting. Please.

Obviously, before his hiring, jj, like many others couldn't stand the Lakers and would not give AD his due. By next week AD will be the best defender in the league. I like how jj talks about the young guys. I don't think he is going to be too scared to play them and will let them have the opportunity to develop. To me, it makes more sense to let young players grow and try to show they can play vs using older players that have already proven they no longer can. Jj is planning for the here and now as well as long term sustainability. A lofty and worthy goal that I fully support. He can keep our offense moving and improve our defense by keeping LeBron's minutes low enough that he doesn't have to pace himself so heavily on defense. I don't know what the magic number would be but whatever would allow LeBron to participate on both ends.

I am impressed with jj so far. I like that he sees value in everyone. All these guys have something to offer or they wouldn't be here. Maximize their strengths and work on weaknesses. Sounds simple but where many coaches fail.

Yeah, he’s very good at BS’ing :D. I imagine when he and Pelinka get together it’s quite something, just one big BS’ing vs flat out fake stories and bible stories back and forth. I think the funniest thing though is probably that as much as Rob and JJ have talked up almost every one of our players they haven’t said a word about DLo, they want that dude gone haha.

Agreed. Talk is cheap and over rated.
Let’s see if he can get this team to follow his lead.
