I see this phrase ALL THE TIME on the internet. "grow a pair" or "your balls haven't dropped" or "nutless" or even "mangina" and of course "puss*". I really do not like these phrases. I'm not ignorant - i used to use these phrases as well. And I know what they mean - weak, afraid, whatever. But what they REALLY mean is not having testicles. This is a very subtle problem that annoys the heck out of me, because if not having testicles implies weakness, then we can of course draw from it that women are weak.

i see the phrase(s) as subtly misogynistic and i don't like it and i call my friends out every time they use it. what do you think?

Greg Proops (comedian) tells people to grow a clit(oris) as a response to this. It's obviously misogynistic. I call people on it.

I think you should toughen up and grow a pair. Don't be so sensitive.

    (Did I do that right?)
