Yelawolf is the album of the year to me (so far). As for Em, he's the GOAT IMO. IMDB says Em produced the soundtrack, but only did one song on the album (the single posted above).
Agreed, I think I'd have to go with Em as the GOAT. Although I LOVE me some 2Pac. Very tough but Em's longevity puts him on top. I feel like Em's recent work hasn't gotten enough praise.
I'll just never get the Eminem love. If you argue that he's a GOAT for his influence on the game/technical rapping ability in his prime/commercial success, I can't really dispute that. But sonically, he just doesn't do much for me. I mean don't get me wrong, he's really good with some great songs that I love, but a lot of his discography is just kinda meh to me. I'll admit I haven't given too much of a chance to his newer stuff, but it doesn't appeal to me. Some of his newer albums have had generic poppy beats and I don't like the screaming vocal style he uses often. He can still go in when he feels like it with some crazy rhymes, but it tends to be pretty singular in terms of lyrical content and he doesn't really say much.
I still put a handful of rappers ahead of Eminem.. But I still think hes one of the best. He should def be mentioned with anyone at the top
Em is dope and one of the greatest MC's of all time. But not the greatest. 1. 2Pac 2. Big 3. Nas 4. Rakim 5. Jay-Z 6. Eminem 7. KRS-One 8. Scarface 9. Common 10. Ice Cube
^^^ I love Rakims voice but is he really top 10? How many songs does he have that people like? It's not just you. I hear people mention him in top 10 lists all the time and I just don't get it. Just for having a 35 year career and about 25 hit somgs, I think LL should be up there.
The Southpaw soundtrack released today. I was wrong on the track listing. This is all new stuff. Everyone I've talked to said it's great, but I haven't listened to it yet. I just finished downloading it. Once I hear it I'll give a review. Also, going to see the movie tonight. Can't wait. - Action Bronson - Bad Meets Evil - Denaun - Eminem - BIG - Prhyme - Slaughterhouse - The Weeknd - 50 Cent
I loved his freestyle. He attacked so many people, but the PC police are only mad that he attacked Caitlyn Jenner. How does someone memorize a rap like that and not mess up at least once?
I guess I mistakenly thought freestyle meant it was spur of the moment and not memorized. I guess I thought that made it more impressive. If it was memorized, it's still impressive even if you are not a fan of the content.
@sirronstuff a freestyle is supposed to be off the cuff, but no way he made that up spur of the moment.
