It's cool to see how many players respect Kobe but annoying to see how many writers just don't show that same appreciation. Dirk has also quietly put up one of the most impressive resumes of all-time. http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/mave...56/dirk-kobe-greatest-player-in-my-generation
Nice words from Dirk. He has truly always been one of my favorite non-Laker players and Lakers/Dallas have had some epic regular season games over the years.
I've always respected Dirk. Humble guy, beautiful game, truly unique player. I was obviously bummed when the Lakers lost in the 2011 playoffs, but I was happy to see the Mavs go on to win it all.
Nice to see some Kobe love from the Big Schnitzle. It was a very big deal for european players and the NBA in Europe when Dirk won it all in 2011. That showed them a European guy could be the focus and win it all. To have a european player as the #1 guy on a championship team was a big deal over there. Good for the NBA in terms of top Euro players wanting to come over now and game popularity in general.
He was also dubbed Dirk Diggler... Good of him to acknowledge Bryant. The negativity from the press about 24 is being countered by his NBA brothers.
