Really nice long article from David Aldridge and talks a great deal about the Lakers.

Thanks Aonex, a really nice piece from Aldridge detailing the state of the Lakers without the excessive hate.

Objectively written...devoid of sensationalism. Aldridge has always been a good writer.

The difference is that Aldridge is already established...and respected. These "others" are hacks trying to get noticed. It is a competitive world in journalism. Digging up dirt or drawing up contentious storylines are a necessity to be relevant.

I read Bresnahan's take on the free agent period. Nothing new... He again rehashed all the Laker for the last three seasons [as if it is "new"], was ambivalent about the Hibbert transaction. On a side note: on his twitter account some poster called him a "closet Laker hater" which I found amusing.

Fair take on the state of the Lakers. Aldridge is solid. Agreed with him on most parts. We have to do something better to attract the top tier FA's, especially next year. He's right that we're going to have to do from inside - get these guys playing better and get some wins. That is probably the most important thing to do right now. Hopefully our pieces will gel into a competent unit. As KB24 said, looks good on paper at least right now, which is cool, but they have to prove it.
