how many rookie walls is he going to hit, lol? i think he just has to get used to the speed of the game. if he's still a mess defensively and this inconsistent on offense next year, i'll worry.
He hasn’t hit the “rookie wall.” He’s been steam rolled by a Mack truck hauling two trailers. At this point, I think he’s all in his head. Snap out of it dude! We need Roadhouse Dalton!
i'd have to see the play in question, but i think some numbers suggest that a walk up three in transition has a higher expected value than running a half court set. i remember way back when i played, my coach had to convince me that pulling up from the elbow if you were open on the break was better than re-setting the offense.
It's tough in LA on shooters, especially our own "shooters". Rooks are going to rook tho, he'll be alright.. might take another season.
He's not getting enough minutes...earlier in the season when he was getting minutes..he played well. Unfortunately he also has not played well and it's led to even less minutes for him. He's going to have to hope for someone on our team to get injured....he's a good depth piece at least and we know fhtat if injuries happened...he can be slotted in and he's not afraid of the moment
yeah, you look at "successful" rookies, and one common factor is that their teams give them pretty significant minutes consistently. and yes, one could argue those minutes are earned and knecht hasn't earned them. but imo, we just aren't in a position to let him learn on the job. as is now well known, our margin for error is tiny every night. i think if knecht played for utah right now, he might be averaging in the upper teens. seriously.
Funny thing is: LeBron’s best chance at getting real help is with Dalton getting his mojo back. This ain’t going to happen with less and less minutes. I understand JJ sitting him, but Rob ain’t pulling off some magical deal that gets us three new, two way players that turn us into a real contender overnight.
this is the issue. i don't think we can afford to play him with some already weak defenders who we need on the floor (reaves and lebron). if vando's really alive, he can and should eat all knecht's minutes. and knecht should spend some time in the g league focusing on off ball defense. if and when lebron retires, we can afford to let knecht figure it out on the big squad, but not now.
I get it, but I’m in the group that believes we have no chance of even making the WCF this season. I literally watch LeBron make no attempts at guarding anyone play after play after play. He knows it’s over too.
And making USD 50M. Just because he's old, that doesn't change how impactful he is relative to his salary and how it impacts the roster's overall quality and this margin of error he likes to talk about so much.
