I was thinking this was a mug from a traveling carnival clown show basketball team. All that’s missing from this photo is the makeup and huge orange wig.

For me, Dalton falling to us is merely icing on the cake.
We won a Chip because of acquiring AD- that settles it.
NO ain’t close- BI is a good second or third level talent on a Chip Team, and Zion will never be that number one guy.

oh, right, good call. and it's tough to do the calculus on the murray/mccollum trades because they were a mixture of assets.

anyway, the big lesson is always don't be the team trading the superstar in his prime. ever.

Holy crap the Pels gave up that pick in the Murray deal and Murray immediately got injured...

The pels literally lost this trade so badly it's not even close. Only way the Pels can say they won the deal is if they win a championship with the curent roster they have...which they will not.

Also, saw a graphic about Dalton Knecht being better than any pick the Pels have made with the picks they got from AD trade...and that couldn't be more true lol. Iin fact, ONE of those picks plays on our team right now lmao. The others were traded for DeJounte Murray (Dyson Daniels is actually VERY good but it doesn't count imo given that he's no longer on their team).

They've got just Brandon Ingram to show from that trade, and they have not extended him, so there's a chance they lose him and then they'll really have ZERO to show for from this trade....

But anyways back to Knecht - the guy needs to be playing 25-30 mins a night, whether he's starting or not.

I think the question shouldn't be whether Knecht starts or Rui starts...it should be whether Knecht or Cam Reddish start. The answer is easy - start Knecht, and then have Cam be the backup 2. Gabe Vincent needs to be squeezed from the rotation completely. When everyone is healthy, rotation to me should be:

    AD
    Bron
    Vando
    Knecht
    Reaves

    bench:
    DLO
    Max
    Reddish
    Rui
    Hayes / Koloko

    third string:
    vincent
    wood
    JHS

Ideally you're able to dump Vincent/Wood/JHS/1st for an impact player - hopefully someone like Valanciunas, or Vucevic, or Robert Williams, or Walker Kessler.

They also gave up Dyson Daniels, one of the Pelican Laker pick. Emerging monster better than Murray by himself

I don't think I agree with this. Start Cam because he starts the game out with better defense and it sets the tone. So many times, we fall behind by 10-15 points almost right away and then we are playing catch up for the final 40 minutes. I would rather see us holding a team more in check at the start, then bring him in and be sure he gets a lot of minutes. Let Knecht learn the system better and learn to play better defense. If our offense completely stutters while Cam is in, bring Knecht in sooner.

Agree. You can still close with Knecht and pretty sure Dalton will play more minutes than Cam almost every night. You buy 12 minutes where Reaves doesn't have to be the POA defender which has been proven to give him the legs to be much better on offense.

Man, that was special, NINE threes from the rookie, absolute heater. Can’t believe he fell to us at 17.

Jesus I might have done a disservice to Knecht to compare him to 2 time NBA all star Allan Houston because I don't remember Houston doing s*** like this.
I loved the pick because I thought you don't get the combo of shooting and dunking together often but I didn't realize this guy is a Klay Thompson like flame thrower.

I think you got to start him now man - you literally have a team with AD/Lebron/AR and you stumble into some unholy combination of Zach lavine and Klay Thompson. It's not just the shooting he's going to posterize you too

i was on this train pre-draft, but even i'm surprised at how quickly he's acclimated. we haven't had an offensive weapon anything like him in the lebron/AD era. we wanted to trade dlo for klay thompson in the offseason and instead we drafted what may currently be a better player (who brings the same skills to the table plus more) at 17.
