Mitch won't fire Byron. Not this quick like they did with Mike Brown and Mike D'Antoni. But bring him in as a assistant coach!

Why in the world should Thibs accept being an assistant coach? He'll have plenty of choices to be a HC.

Would love it, but it won't happen.

If he were to take the step backwards and go be an assistant, he'd do it for Doc Rivers across the hall.

In fact, don't be surprised if Rivers goes up into the GM chair this summer and then gives Thibodeau the Head Coaching position.

Yeah, that would actually make sense. Also, Thibs would run Randle into the ground right away.

Not happening as some have already said Mitch & Jim aren't firing Byron this early.

First coach worth hiring to hit the market since Adelman.

first off, the FO has made it clear they're sticking with b-scott. i'll say for at least another season or two

and why on earth would thibodeau become an assistant when he'll have tons of head coaching opportunities?

Would love to have Thibs here but I don't see it happening.

I mean, there is zero chance he takes a job here because it would be an assistant spot. But I'd gladly take Thibs for even half a season as assistant just so we could get his defensive scheme instituted, and our rookies/second year guys can get some pointers.

If he's coming to LA, it isn't to coach the Lakers. Rather to replace Doc, allowing Rivers to go hide after such a collapse from the comforts of his chair in the front office.
