Well, yeah. Cam looked good last night -- he has great physical tools to be someone in this league. Focus & work ethic is what's going to make a difference here. If this locker room can't help him then no one can.
I still think Max deserves to be slotted ahead of him in the rotation, but I don’t think it’s fair how the fanbase in large part already wrote him off completely after 1 bad preseason game in which he got injured. He did show some intriguing flashes of potential in his last game. I’m rooting for the kid.
Yeah, I think Max is and should be ahead of him. Hoping we'll find places to plug Cam in throughout the season. Cam did show some nice D on Dame and good job reading the passing lanes (he's always been good at that). He also looked more comfortable with the ball in his hands as a bucket getter vs. off ball/catch and shoot. If Rui misses a game, I could see Ham plugging him to try to replicate that (same way Wood will try to do his best AD impression when he's out). I've always been a fan and have been trying to wish cast him onto the Lakers for years, so I'm hoping it'll work out for everyone. But after Hayes' play, Cam is probably the 12th man on a healthy Lakers team.
The offense just sort of died when he was out there even when he was in with a bunch of starters. Doesn't seem to move
We got the wrong Cam on this team….we had the chance and we wasted it on some often injured glass rookie unlike Whitmore
I’m still hoping Cam turns things around, and I’m rooting for him to do it, but honestly this is exactly what I was expecting from him. He’s athletic I’ll give him that, but what else does he do well? I’m fine with him taking up a roster spot and hoping he improves, but the fundamentals just aren’t there IMO. My impression of Cam before he came to LA was he’ll make a great play here and there, but he’ll mostly screw up coverages, fumble the ball and miss shots.
He's a good POA defender I'll give him that but outside of that he's just kind of there. No motor and his jump shot is broken
Defense has been solid and that's what will get him minutes. If he's creating for himself as a driver, that's been his most effective move in pre-season. Problem with the shot is there's no consistency in form or motion.
I’m a Cam guy but I kinda feel like he got here too late. With our depth I just don’t see how many chances he will get to play. Hes got to really show something in practice and in limited minutes.
