Yeah. He looked pretty good on defense in the parts of the game I saw.

Sorry Big Guy but you are wrong on that. He has good instincts and does look pretty good on D already out there. Sure against D-leaguers but with his body as it matures he is going to be a load for lighter PGs and 2s, and he has good athleticism laterally already which will get better with the drills and gym work in the pros. He's not going to be a scrub. By the end of this year or maybe next his contract is going to look like a value. The shooting will come, nothing wrong with his form to prevent it. That's how I see it. You being right about Mozgov .... this will even the score.

Agreed. Natural athletes have a chance here, he can be a 5th guard in an NBA team

If you squint you can see a mini Bron out there LOL. Stands to reason I suppose. And he is playing smartly under control, has tight enough handle for what he's doing at this point. If he can get to where he knocks those shots down that he can get usually when he wants .... I wouldn't even be surprised if some time from now in not distant future he plays maybe some PG off the bench, switching off as a combo guard with whoever's actually on point .... like DLO and AR switch off.

He doesn’t have PG vision though, and he admits that. He knows he’s a short reserve guard who needs to play amazing D and not suck on O to get any burn.

Weirdly I like him defending sgs more than pgs so far. The strength shows up there.

He has good defensive instincts. There was one point where he got switched onto Miami's center and he managed to hold position, kind of like a dollar tree version of Josh Hart.

Offensively, well he's inherited pop's bad free throw shooting. He has a long way to go there but he plays within himself at least.

From what I can see, he's a project that probably won't see much big league time this season. This is another "we'll see what we have in a year" type of thing.

Same of you have some major:

Delusion: a false belief or judgment about external reality, held despite incontrovertible evidence to the contrary, occurring especially in mental conditions.

God help some of you when this thing blows up in your faces. You will never hear the end of it.......Sorry.

It's like with any guard in the NBA nowadays, if he can shoot he'll play in the league.
He's going to be a good defender, good athlete for his size. Not a great playmaker from the PG spot and he's on the small side so he's going to have bury 40% of his 3's to make it.

JHS is a different body then Bronny but basically the same thing with him too. On top of getting healthy again, these guys who have holes in their game but can theoretically become good defenders need to be able to shoot at a high percentage.

How can this blow up in anyone's face? He's the 55th pick who projects out to be a second string 3&D combo guard. If he is out of the league in 3 years, that's better than most players picked 55. You're just mad to be mad about this.

I can see him developing into an Avery Bradley type of player. He moves well laterally,, it's just a matter of getting some confidence in his shot. If he puts in the work in the G league, he'll stick.

I’m not sure delusion is the right word even if I tend to share many of your views.

I think it’s a case of being a supportive fan and choosing to focus on the positive where you can find it. Choosing to be glass half full guy even when the evidence is against it.

but I will say this: If pops wasn’t on his team and still in the league, I think Bronny would be getting some Kaitlin Clark “welcome to the league” fouls fairly often. Even if he sticks, he has skipped some steps of the process.

Fans of the Lakers might be willing to overlook that, but I’m curious how everyone else will see it.

lot of that going around. it's weird to me to invest that much energy in something like this. you'd think it was the westbrook trade again. it matters pretty much zero.

I don’t think Bron wants him to spend a lot of time in the G league even if it would be good for his development. Bron wanted us to draft his son so he and his son could play together. That doesn’t happen if he’s not with the varsity team.

I hope he’s not out of the league in 3 years since we signed him to a 4 year contract. Of course that kinda proves my point that if most guys drafted at his spot are out of the league in a few years, doesn’t make a lot of basketball sense to give him a 4 year contract and we only did it because of his dad.

Edit:I know your response wasn’t to me but I did start the whole thing with my comment earlier.

milwaukee keeps giannis's brother on the team. hell, we took up developmental slots on one of giannis's brothers probably in the hopes he might like us after that! these are just things you do for the business, and it's a really unique circumstance. i just can't muster the anger. i'm sure someone taken after him or undrafted will be a better player. probably 5 of them. just like every other year for us and every other team.
