He had a rough start to the series but closed it out really well. It's clear he's our 3rd best player out there, he does everything out there and continues to put effort in no matter what. And yes, that half court shot to end the first half was a big turning point for us. Hope he's ready to chase Murray around. He's not Curry but he's a different sort of animal.
the halfcourt shot was huge, but equally large was the one he hit to open third. just re-took control of the game.
Damn. We are really lucky he got redshirted and had injuries so went 5 years in college. He'd be a lotto pick if he was healthy and able to showcase all his stuff.
The NBA is probably reviewing that tape right now and preparing to suspend him at least Game 1 against the Nuggets for initiating contact and striking a fan. I mean you can see their point .... can't have that stuff any more at all after Malice at the Palace.
That is the key, when he is having an off game he does the little things. Very few if any that bring it every game. You can count on him to be fairly consistent which is huge for a coach. I have often said it is the inconsistent players that drive coaches crazy. You game and that dude don't show up. I believe you are right in that we have found our third star.
I'm honestly not sure how the hell we discovered this guy, but boy I'm glad we did. I really hope Hillbilly Kobe ends up being a Laker for years to come, because not only he's made a huge impact on the team, but I feel like he's still got a lot more to show. There's been a lot of players we've discovered and have been hyped a lot (that is part of being part of the greatest franchise), but this guy feels really special. This is not a guy that takes over game by simply having a hot hand or something like that. He's just a fantastic basketball player and will generally find his way to contribute even if he doesn't actually have that hot hand. He's a very complete player and has some amazing moves that are very hard to find in an NBA player. I'm extremely glad he's a Laker.
Austin is just a Gamer. High motor & extremely high BBall IQ. He's just gonna get better as he gets a bit physically stronger. He's deceivingly strong as it is...
I’d only suggest a change in your mention of when Austin’s having an “off day” he does all the other little things ….. to all the other “important” things. Even if off on two there’s always several more that he will continue to spot. Austin …. MAN …. has IT.
