Wanna see AR get a little more strength in his upper body and continue to work on explosiveness. The sky’s the limit.

This is what makes him a star even though according to Trevor Lane the Lakers may be looking for a third star not realizing he is already here. With no glaring weaknesses he can keep building his overall game getting better in every area. His vertical will improve with off season work and his handles will improve because he is smart to realize where he was losing the ball. He just needs to shorten that dribble up in traffic and use his body better to shield the ball. He needs to watch a few hours of Magic Johnson tape on how that slight turn of the body made it easy to protect the ball and survey the court. I would also like to see him take the ball to the hoop pretty much every time teams try that intense pressure on him. Back them off by showing he can score more which means being a little more selfish which is actually being less selfish but all that gets confusing...lol. We will see a bigger version of Nash next season that can play defense.

Another great post you’ve made on Reaves, since becoming a big fan of his in college by luck of one game you happened to be watching …. and your own coaching body of work.

i'm actually on the third star train now, tbh. imo, he was as good or better than opposing third stars we played in the playoffs (mpj, thompson/wiggins, bane--that one's debatable). this is why i think there's zero chance he plays elsewhere next year.

He showed incredible shooting over the last few months. In the playoffs he was 44% on 5.5 attempts.

I’d like him to lean into that even more and watch some Klay tape on how to move without the ball to create space. If he can hoist up 8 threes a game at 40% next season it’ll change our offense. It’s also going to make him a very dynamic scorer, teams will have to sell out on his 3 which will open his drives up even more. I can see him being a 20 pt scorer with this improvement and the “third star”.

If he can improve his scoring from low 20s to high 20s, the Lakers found their 3rd star. If he can do that Lebron can be our supporting cast lol. In all seriousness Lebron wants to be the 3rd man too, that will reserves him for important games.

If the FO doesn't realize who is important when he's right in front of their face, I'll lose total respect for them. You can't let him go.

The biggest improvement he has to make is actually to say " give me the f***ing ball" to Lebron and DS in 2nd halves

Yeah when Ham started Schroder alongside AR in game 4 instead of DLO …. fine it was our last shot and had to be done. But then first part of the quarter it was frustrating watching Dennis too often as the guard running the offense instead of Reaves who is much better at it and magnitudes better as a passer. Same thing between those two in crunch time, too often it’s Dennis over Reaves handling the ball the times LeBron is not taking it.

Yeah the opponent defense is very happy when DS is taking the reigns of the offense over Reaves when Bron is tired .

It's on AD and Reaves to demand the ball and make plays ...

i think low 20s is plenty to be in the "third star" category, tbh. agree that lebron is probably best suited to that offensive role now, but does he agree?

eh, it's largely on the coach and also on the other players on the floor. it was frustrating watching lebron and DS handle the ball out top in the halfcourt in crunch time in this series. this is not the way.

the article on silver screen and roll about it was good, imo. it was in response to houston said to be possibly making an offer. and the response is like, great, make it so we can re-sign him. i still think the tricky part will be getting a team to sign him to an offer sheet knowing we'll match all the way up to the max. look for someone with cap space who has ties with reaves's agent. but it's still a tough proposition, as you have to sell it to your fanbase that it's a good-faith offer and not a favor to an agent.
