Never doubted it. He wanted to be here and won in year one. He's here for the long haul. But I'm glad this is coming out now to remove media talking point.

Yes, I won't feel truly comfortable until he actually signs his new deal but glad they are saying he plans to do so.

He’s signing, it’s only a matter of for how long. This seems likely to me

Three years, 2+1 seems great. Provides some stability for us, will draw free agents to LA and he ends up with a MAX at the end of it. Makes sense for everyone involved.

What a record-breaking season it has been, and there are more records to be broken. Wow.

I can see him staying here as long as Lebron is here. So 2 years + 3rd year player option. Go all in the next 2 years

Someday the Lakers may have their pattern of trading for a great Big Man (Wilt / Kareem / Pau / AD) backfire on them. But not today.

I love that Shams got on this story of him planning to re-sign after he opts out. Puts an end to the media circus that would have ensued.

    AD ain't Kawhi - he's staying.

He's literally the perfect fit for LeBron and vice-versa.

Best lobs finisher in arguably NBA history.
Best defender LeBron has ever played with who can defend all positions.
    Best below the rim finisher.
    Can space the floor.
    No drama or ego issues.

Imagine if you replaced Bosh or Love with AD on those Heat/Cleveland teams... which Finals series do they lose? I say none.
