No real info yet on the shooter, but he is at large and apparently killed multiple people and wounded others at a popular shopping mall. A security guy was just on and ISIS has been asking it's followers in Germany and the rest of Europe to ratchet up their attacks. So it's possible this is another ISIS attack. A couple weeks ago there was an Afghan refugee who went on an axe weilding spree. Germany is one of the main countries letting in refugees with no way of knowing their backgrounds.

Doubt this gets much attention. We're so used to it. If it's not 50 or more people it won't make the regular news cycle

These are the types of attacks that actually really scare me because they don't take any time to plan, they hit people going about their daily lives as opposed to something that would be more dramatic like a large get together (Superbowl, Olympics, etc). These are the types of attacks that if they start happening once every month or so here, we could be looking at some serious "security" measures taken by our government.

What's sad is I went to an event called Summer Fun or something in China Town last week in LA and I was absolutely terrified something like this would happen. There were hundreds of people all gathered in one area and it would have been easy to kill a lot of them before they escaped. Horrifying.

Actually I've always said one way to really cripple a country would be to attack entrances at multiple sporting events on a single day. A Dodger game, Cubs game, and Yankees game. Or I suppose three stadiums on the same coast so you could do more damage. There's decent security to get in, but the lines always build up around the entrances. You could kill 50 people probably at each entrance.

Something like this is along the same vein but you have less likelihood of killing a ton of people. In a mall they'd scatter I assume. At an event they're bottlenecked.

And yet it's fearmongering to bring that up. Of all the stupid things to come out of the DNC (stupid, not corrupt) that's the dumbest.

The dumbest to come out of the RNC was a stupidly plagiarized speech. The idea that being afraid of the sheer numbers of terrorist attacks as "fearmongering" is insulting to my intelligence. At least the plagiarized speech was just insulting to her intelligence.

I had heard complaints about how the media blows terrorist attacks in first world countries out of proportion while never reporting about the countless terrorist attacks in poor/predominantly Muslim countries.

I always thought that complaint itself was being blown out of proportion.

But seeing that list is depressing to see how true it is.
