    The Founder of 5-Hour Energy seem like a very nice, down to earth person. This bicycle machine is mentioned in this video and along with other projects. I have saved the whole documentary on youtube to watch later. It's called Billions in Change

    Unfortunately the average person can only produce about 75 watts per hour, 400 at most. That's not much power.

    It would be better just to give access to free solar panels. A relatively cheap one produces 250 watts. Over the course of roughly 8 hours of useful sunlight, it would produce 2kWh, much more than a person could at a fraction of the cost.
