I imagine most of this will be about this guy

.. At least until an official decision is made on when he plans on entering.

Scouts are also starting to pop up at more college game as we approach March Madness

    30/23/9 is quite a line.

We're keeping our pick? Don't think so.

First rounder is up to NO, whether they want to defer or not. Then it's a matter of whether or not we make an idiotic trade for a 3rd star. Takes two teams to make a deal and if nothing's there... too soon to tell.

Regardless, we have one second round pick and have a history of moving around in the second to get what we want.

    Forgot the second round pick.

If we get the first rounder from NO, it's being moved, IMO.

yeah, even if NO doesn't take the pick (i'm leaning towards they don't), i'm 80% sure we're trading it. you know lebron's looking at jhs in the g league and asking the FO why he isn't royce oneale or something.

I’ve heard it’s a weak draft class so I don’t expect NO to take the pick.

We really need to draft a big man to be AD’s understudy for a few years.

yeah, we're probably going to pick at like 13 or 14. but is NO banking on a) us definitely being this bad next year? and b) the difference in positioning in better draft definitely being worth it?

what if we finish 6th next year (could happen)? is the 19th pick next year actually better than the 14th this year in expected value? by giving us the 14th pick to trade this year, are they pushing the value of next year's pick down?

anyway, i generally think we'll have it, and NO will gamble on lebron and AD's health going downhill next year. but that could burn them.

It's risky for them. I'd like to think we will be better, but I can see them thinking we won't have back to back good health years from our big guns.

Makes total sense. If I were them, I would be thinking the same thing.

i'd probably gamble, too. i guess you're playing with house money at this point.

just saying maybe that pick becomes an important part of a draft night trade that really helps the team--maybe even helps them weather partial losses of stars due to injuries.

Whichever one they take is the ONE that will have irrefutably proven NO won the trade.

    :ADGlance:

Too bad those guys are scattered all over the league now except for BI.

USC's season came to an end today, so now we spend the next 5 weeks speculating.

Haven't done any real tape watching of anyone yet. Too soon and too much uncertainty with the pick. BUT Devin Carter highlights have popped up on my Twitter timeline a lot this year, his two way potential does interest me quite a bit.

Looks a bit like a quicker Szczerbiak.

yeah, that's a good comp from what i've seen. those pining for jacquez would be happy for such a pickup, i'd think. he's definitely got some reaves vibes, too, in that he's putting up numbers against good competition but is being discounted because he's too old.

seen him compared to strus and bojan bodganovic, too.

he's obviously not going to be a good iso defender, but you don't get that with this offensive package outside of the top 5.

i think it's weird that sheppard is projected top 5 and knecht is late lotto/mid-first.
