Putting too much stock in media rumors IMO. Like yeah...Rob is still trying to trade for Buddy Hield.

On another note, the saying in the NBA, if you aren't winning a Chip, you are going to need to make some changes. It depends on where it all ends for us this season. I'm totally shocked if Trae Young lands in LA this summer though.

All depends on seeding and that's going down to the wire to see who slots where. It's absurd how stacked the west is when you look over at the EC standings by comparison.

Worst case is Kings and Nuggets.

If we face off against Kings in a play in, they have our number and AD hasn't won against Sabonis.

If we face Nuggets in Round 1, them sweeping us wouldn't surprise me at all.

Yea, the Rumor Mills: gotta keep the content coming, somehow. And that's pretty much how I calm myself down with the idea of shooting ourselves in the kneecap and feet: it's all that rumor crap. Keep a scorecard of how many rumors we hear and how many of them actually come to be true. It's not very many. Rumors at times may come from something someone actually said who's high up in the org, but even then it could be gamesmanship...is how I try to keep calm and carry on with something like the Trae thing.

Maybe..Sacramento isn't the same, without Monk and Huerter, and like last season, the regular season isn't the playoffs. I believe they won the season series against Golden State.

The Nuggets are a tough draw true, but I believe that last game against NO, is going to determine, whether we get the 6th or 7th slot. Where the Nuggets sit at that point, will probably determine how we approach that game.

I just can't believe after everything that's happened over the last few seasons, that anyone in our FO thinks the right move is to mortgage our entire future (3 firsts and AR/Rui/Vando) on a third star. Doesn't a Myles Turner and a decent 3&D guy get us there?

No healing power quite like seeing the Lakers on the schedule.

You want to use DPM? Also significantly better than AR. Any metric you want to use AR will be on the losing end.

Defensive stats suck and has been a well known problem with advanced metrics. Players who get steals for example maybe gambling more and +/- based stats get all messed up because it doesn't account for assignment and role. For example, AR often gets stuck as primary POA defender against the opponents best offensive guard because Vando/Cam have been out and he's a better defender then Dlo, Prince, etc.

That almost never happens in Cleveland where due to their team makeup they use Okoro and Struss and try as hard as hell to hide Garland and Mitchell. This causes all sort of weird stuff to happen that is obviously not true like Sengun having a better DPM then Bam or Donkic being a top 20 defender which is horsehit

defensive metrics are noisy, but have some eye-test validation for me in many cases.

that said, drtg lower is better, no?

In general they're ok: trying to use them for head to head comparisons is astrology IMO. Even the more advanced synergy stuff that show Gobert deters more stuff at the rim then AD. Is that really valuable considering that Twolves have much stronger perimeter defenders then the Lakers?

really lame seeing wemby being hyped up so much for his defense when he's only blocking that many shots because of his height. his defense otherwise is nothing spectacular. not much different than manute bol or shawn bradley leading the league in blocks

meanwhile, AD is the best defender in the game and it goes completely ignored
