Brandon Ingram has requested a trade from New Orleans. The three teams Ingram has as an ideal landing spot would be Washington, Golden State, and Sacramento, per @ShamsCharania and The Athletic https://t.co/9mHaN9gW2o

    Well...that's interesting

i was just thinking today that i felt bad for him being stuck there. lonzo was liberated, now it's his turn. and people thought AD was wrong to ask out of that place after 8 years. it only took two for ingram.

he deserves a chance to be a #2 to a veteran star somewhere. relevant to this thread, if i'm portland, i'm calling right now with mccollum and a pick as my offer.

i don't think ingram can really make a list. of course he wants to go to gs, but i don't see how that happens. i guess for wiggins and one of their recent lotto picks? good lord what a pickup that would be for them. like, cancel-the-season level pickup.

how does sacramento make his list? does he want to play for the californian version of the pelicans?

On second look...could be another fake post. I have to be more vigilant when Shams name is being used. If it's not on his Twitter feed.

That’s a fake nba account. Brandon Ingram is good, but he’s not good enough to dictate what teams he’s traded to should he demand a trade. Also why would you want to go from NO to Sacramento? Both teams suck but at least NO is a cool place with good food.

This is a good article about the growing trend, of more size and length becoming important in the game today. While it focuses on Toronto as the example, I can see this a the direction, in which a lot of teams will try to go. For the Lakers specifically, I understand the concept with Tucker and Baze, 6'4 guys with long wingspans. The thing is, when they are faced with 6'7 guys with long wingspans, they still end up at a disadvantage.

yeah, basically, it's hard to punish teams who play light, mobile centers anymore. sure, you can throw jokic or embiid in the low post against them, but those are two-point shots without a 100% success rate. teams will generally invite that.

i'm not sure this is entirely new, as the the 90s bulls often ran a bunch of wings, as did those sonics teams. what cleveland's doing is really interesting and, as the author indicates, is driven largely by mobley's defensive abilities (he can guard 2-5).

had we grabbed a couple wings (and ariza was part of this theory), i think vogel was probably thinking of using AD and lebron like allen and mobley.

though, not to beat a dead horse, but allen and mobley clearly want to defend...

One thing on Allen and Mobley is they aren’t asked to carry the load on offense either. It's great to be able to concentrate on defense and your offense is a plus. This is why I feel like we made the moves we did. I thought missing out on Rudy Gay or Jeff Green was a big deal. Maybe Trevor will rectify some of that. He's no star but 20-25 solid minutes from him can be impactful.

right: ariza AND green would have been preferable to picking up bradley or bazemore.

stotts was a fine coach; their roster had gone as far as it could. further, really. they did squat this summer despite obvious pressure from lillard.

lillard's numbers are way down compared to previous years. either he's been playing hurt or its due to billups and whatever new system they're running

i'm surprised he hasn't demanded a trade yet after they did nothing to improve their team this past offseason. but he's set on doing what giannis did. eventually he'll wake up and realize that just isn't possible with the team they have

Counter theory: his poor play is his trade demand. He’s driving his price down a la harden.

    THT/nunn/first-born son for turner.

also, indy hires carlisle then decides to rebuild? that's going to end poorly.

OK, what can we give them for Myles Turner? Any ideas? Some crypto.com under the table?

Pelinka should give them a call, see if there's any package they will accept. If I was him, I'd even offer to pay them in pubes:
