Meaning nobody offered him the big bucks.
He'll unretire after the All-Star break if there's an opening on one of the front horses.. especially if that team is in or near NY.
We're taking a look at another out of the league guard...
So many out of the league guys still trying to hang on.
My takeaway is that we want to play nice with Monta Ellis’ agent so are expressing interest in a “workout” solely as a favor.
Rich Paul vs. Morey
Gonna get interesting as the fines start piling up and if/how Paul can put pressure on Morey to get a deal done.
simmons is a toxic player n sixers Morey want way to much for Simmons, its gona be ugly ugly situation going forward
how long has Monte been gone?
Already been the star, and not worried about that?
acting like his addition will put us over the top into the infinity realm of all time great teams lol
why we looking at another OLD small guard?
Why, who else does he rep? Never heard of him, not that me not having done that means anything.
At least we get to see Morey get a taste of the medicine the monster/prick he created in Houston …. pulled on them last year to force his way out.
this was my exact thought process. playing nice...but...why?
i can't imagine a world in which we bring in monta for real.
Yeah, I tried looking him up but couldn’t find if he reps any other NBA players.
It’s just the only plausible explanation I can think of. I can’t envision a scenario in which Rob and co legitimately think that (A) Ellis can still contribute and (B) Ellis fits a current need for our roster.
Because the obvious answers are no and... no.
Workout "fodder" for Collison .... 2 birds with one stone kind of thing ..... to say we tried?
Lots of money to be had!
According to Real GM, he's repped byJeff Fried, Happy David Walters, Steve McCaskill. The only real, employed NBA'er in their roladex is RJ Hampton.
a) knows this agent, and is just doing him a solid, even if it's a token one, and/or
b) is greasing some palms for zero cost now to develop relationships, and to possibly cash in on sometime in the future.
Or in other words, playing long-term chess. Just me speculating.
My only counter to the we're doing his agent a favor line of thinking... what about Faried and Collison? Are we doing favors for every agent of players out of the league? That seems unlikely to me.
