I like the tounge-in-cheekiness about the article. Seems to me that we have nothing to worry about - every game teams allow lakers to compete for 3 quarters and then put their foot down on the accellerator. Can
not blame lin for making the most of his opportunities to show he deserves another contract. He is a great defender, he is an aggressive offensive player (as you noted) but still makes some pretty silly mistakes for a guy who has been in the league long enough. I think everyone has seen enough of lin to know that he was never worth the deal he was signed to (and that lakers are paying final year of for cap reasons), if he is smart - lin would re-sign with lakers for less than market value recognizing that there is a very real chance he will be on the floor as leader of a bench mob next year with decent minutes and zero pressure. If he goes for the most he can get (who can blame him) and gets a sucker like NY or HOU to pay him more than 10M a year for a 3 year deal - he'd better take it.

Thanks, appreciate the comments. I fixed a couple of formatting issues I didn't see before when I added the stats tables, so apologies if one paragraph made no sense, for some reason it got cut up.

Lin could continue to be a great member of the bench mob for LA but I wonder how expensive he is going to be with his latest outburst. On top of that he spent most of this season proving that he can't play next to Kobe, so that's a concern as well. Ultimately I think the Lakers will let Lin walk in order to keep their cap space free to chase superstars, which was also their M.O. last offseason.
