he'll be a little rusty but BOY will it be nice seeing him back in action. Even just his energy and personality out there will help our ball club

I hope he's allowed to shoot 15 shots a night he's a gifted scorer. At this point even his defense is missed.. which is laughable since his defense is very sub-par at best.

With Swaggy we could actually win some games and be exciting at the same time. But it may take several to get the rust off. Glad that he's at least kept in shape and that the healing went a little quicker than first anticipated. Kobe needs some relief! Bring it Swaggy!!

I don't know that there's much to rush. He's within the time frame they gave us initially and it's a thumb injury. Risk of seriously re-injuring it isn't great. It's not a major joint like the knee or shoulder...

    GET HIM BACK!

I have been waiting forever for Kobe and Swaggy to play together in the 4th quarter. I feel that this will work in a way Howard or Wes never could. I guess I am not setting the bar high, but you have to grab your optimism where you can this season.

Is the main knock on Youngs D simply effort?

Byron should give him the green light to shoot as much as possible.

Agreed.. if at the very least to keep opponents from just focusing their defense solely on Kobe.

I think with Lin attacking more often and stepping back on the 3's more often.. and Nick putting up shots, the team could be night and day better.

If NOTHING else he should be able to spell Kobe and keep the offense being the same crap but with another person chucking up shots.

Over or under Nick Youngs minutes @30? I dont necessarily like paying someone 5.5 mill for a guy to come off the bench, BUT if hes averaging starter minutes than it doesnt really matter as much. Just feel that was a luxury type of move you do when youre on the cusp of winning a championship.

Under. But, I would expect Nick to be playing 25-30 minutes a game. He should also be finishing games, not Wes.

His contract is also not $5.5M. It WAS $20M/4, but those numbers may have changed with the Boozer move, he could be making less than $5.

Anyways, his move was a great deal no matter the situation, but especially our situation. We locked in a key 6th man piece for the next 4 years, with the cap expected to rise with the new TV deal. His production/locker room presence for his pay is definitely undervalued. If in two years, we are back into contention with a couple superstars leading the way, his bench production will be magnified.

I'd give Swaggy 30. I have seen next to nothing from Wes that makes me want him out there more than 15-18 per game. He's a zero impact player. I'd say Swaggy's D has more impact than Wes at this point. Sad.

I doubt he gets 30 minutes the first night he returns but slowly but surely he better be up around that number in a few weeks
