Kobe has shown us that footwork for him is pure muscle memory. Too bad his shoulder ruined his confidence in his release point for his shot. When its rested - you can see he still has more than 80% of the guys out there. Shot against Boston falling out of bounds, blowing past Ariza in HOU, 35 points in roughly 2.2 quarters of play.... So what will the last game against Utah bring? Mamba is going to prove he can still do it and be carried off the Court (injured if need be). Goin' out Mamba style - not like Paul Pierce in 2008 finals. No "waaaaah" get me a wheelchair for Mamba. Sad that he had to lose 2 years due to injury. Amazing that he made is 20 years playing at such a high level. Will finish this season (injuries and limited minutes and all) as lakers leading PPG....just under 17.0.... Not like KAJ when he went out in '89 averaging just over 10.0 PPG and clanking Sky Hooks right only because he could no longer go left with enough speed. That's not to slam KAJ - just to give props to Kobe and how amazing his 'end' truly has been. Surely, if this organization had even a chance at getting back to the finals in 2017 - he's pull a Salley and sign on as a bench player because he could clearly score in bunches and when rested. Sad that we let him down as an organization in his last 2 years. Happy that he got a $50M good bye present from the team. Hopefully, they don't roll a car into Staples. Predictions on what the 'final gift' from the team will be? His own Purple and Gold Helicopter with the Number 24 on it. Staples installs a beacon on the roof which can be lit up at night and shines 2-4....in hopes that he may return when called upon sometime in the future. Maybe the poster above is right - just retire his number right away when the horn sounds.
It's finally here....The last link to our championship years has one more game left, gonna be one heck of a night tomorrow.
That is a great read. Well ..... unless you happen to be JSM. Don't know if he has enough "GRIT" to handle that with his main man featured in there ....
Calling it now, Kobe game winner tomorrow night. It'll be a poetic, Hollywood ending vs Utah. But man, Utah has to win to knock the Rockets out of the playoffs.
This has been the move I think they make. I know the Lakers are going to make some grand gesture besides just having people there. This one makes the most sense. Or maybe unveiling a statue of him outside the stadium during or right before the game.
Unfortunately I'm pretty sure we're just going to get blown out again. Utah is a tough match-up for our team.
http://www.cbssports.com/nba/writer...mbracing-the-task-of-guarding-the-black-mamba Another good one with guys like Raja Bell and Tony Allen talking about what it meant to be a "Kobe Stopper".
fantastic article detailing the last stretch of games before kobe's Achilles injury...well worth the long read "The Last True Days of Kobe Bryant"
Just landed in LA. The guy at the immigration basically wished me good luck and jockingly asked me for my tickets or he won't let me in^^. Does anybody know what else they got planned for tomorrow besides bringing out former teammates before thegame?
Wow. I almost feel like I should donate my $100 LB prize for in person witness this year of Kobe's highest scoring game, the win against MN here ...... to you for being that hard core and coming this far to see Kobe's last game. Germany ... are you kidding?? Almost .... but nah!!
