I bought a shirt from his website in December, but it was only 20 bucks! To spend that much I mean wow just wow. Matter of fact there is another one I see for basically the same price that I may get just because it has the picture of when we beat Boston. Will always cherish that wonderful memory.

 

I don't think it's permanent. I think our young guys are smart enough to know that this isn't how franchises are run. All you have to do is look at San Antonio. I think they'll be alright provided we get rid of the clown. We already wasted a year of their development. We can't make it two. Things have to change now if we wanna seriously rebuild. I think that's the best option right now. We're so far behind. We're right at the bottom. We have to start that process now.

 

I was at work today talking to my coworkers about the Lakers, Kobe, and the NBA in general. After the talk it's starting to hit me. Only 5 more days until Wednesday.......damn.....

I did buy this hat today. The other hats have him biting the jersey, but he looks like Karl Malone lol.

 

Please put up at least 50 shots in the last game. Go berserk one last time Kobe

 

I'm ready only because this isn't the Kobe Bryant that made be become a huge, huge fan of his and the Los Angeles Lakers. He hasn't been that guy for three years. That's normal because nobody cab outlast Father Time, but Kobe did it about as long as anyone has ever. He's had an incredible and remarkable career. I wish things ended better, but no matter how bad these last three years have been the first seventeen were an absolute blessing and honor to watch. He symbolizes hard work, competiveness, getting the absolute most out of your ability, never ever accepting less than putting your best forth, and always, always striving for your absolute best.

We can go down the countless list of incredible memories the man has given us. The biggest thing is Kobe never cheated us. Yes I hate how he's played this season, but he never quit or gave up. He kept killing himself just because he didn't wanna dissapoint anyone. I've become frustrated by this tour and its longevity, but I'm still proud I got to see him play two final times in San Antonio against the Spurs. Fitting because it was his biggest rival other than Boston. That was a special rivalry that will always be apart of me. Seeing two of the greatest to ever lace them up in Duncan and Kobe was just amazing. Two consummate professionals. Two legends. Absolute classic battles. They poured their guts out for their team. I only wish they got to face one final time in a postseason battle.

I remember when we were pretty mediocre and quite honestly that's being nice. We were an awful team other than Kobe and yet every game I felt like we had a chance to win because of him. Just look at Doc Rivers quote the other day. Even when they were massacring us he didn't pull the big three because of Kobe. That's the kind of fear he put in is. Even though we were clearly outmatched just like a lot of nights in those 2005-2007 seasons he always gave us hope. Kobe had this incredible way to will his team to victory. His offensive eruptions, his ability to lock anybody down when he wanted too or even just chasing and coming up with a loose ball.

It was just amazing to watch how much one man wanted to win. He did everything he possibly could to win. I don't know that I've ever or ever will see another player more driven. He was obsessive about it. He lived, dreamed, and sleeped this game. That is what made him special. There were very few on his skill level in fact you could argue nobody was, but absolutely nobody met his intensity level. He wanted to rip your f***ing throat and not give you any hope. He wasn't like some of these guys who would be smiling all the team and lovey dubey with other players. There were no smiles. No friendships on the court. He was an absolute killer. How about all those injuries he played through even in the latter stages? He was an absolute warrior. He pushed himself to extraordinary limits. He did whatever he had to do to get himself able to play.

His incredible skill level which is a direct result of how bad he wanted it. He worked his a** off each offseason adding different things to his game. Whether you talk about his patented fadeaway. Even that one legged Dirk shot from mid range. His footwork was just impeccable. His defensive technique was perfect. He'd get low, he'd move his feet, he'd rarely get turned, he'd bump you and he physical if needed, and was great in pass lanes. His playmaking ability when he wanted to be was terrific. As he matured he got so much better driving and kicking. Just making smart basketball decisions. Not just rushing and chucking up shots. Accepting double teams. Setting up guys like Bynum and Gasol. One of the biggest passes of his career was in Game 2 of the Finals against Orlando in 2009 to seal that game and put the Lakers up 2-0 in the series. He drove, drew two defenders inside and made a beautiful feed to Pau who had a huge and one. The improvement in leadership. Not just screaming and cursing dudes out. He learned how to communicate better as his career went on.

At the end of the day the man was a five time champion. As he says had the career of his dreams. Anyone's dreams. He got to play for what was the best orginization in the league and one of the best in sports (until the last few years) for his entire career. As a fan it's just been a pleasure. I got to see a legend do his thing in his prime. I will never lose sight of that. I will always be thankful. I've been harsh on him lately, but that is just frustration from this whole debacle of a season. Last few seasons really, but Kobe will always, always be my favorite player. No one can even close to him. He really has inspired me to be better. I think he should inspire anyone no matter what you do to give it everything you have and then some. That's what he did. He gave us every ounce he had and finally his tank on E. That's what Kobe always wanted. To play till the wheels came off and they finally did, but he's at least going at at peace. He's ready to take on the next challenge and I'm excited for him. You have that kind of competiveness you'll do great things.

It's been a long journey. All great things come to an end at some point. As much as I'm ready to move on there will always be a profound appreciate for his greatness and what he gave us. I'll get to tell my future kids one day I get to see Kobe Bryant play basketball. In a few years he'll get his jersey retired. Then he'll be going to the Hall of Fame.

I have a shirt where he tells us all thank you for supporting him for two decades and he'll never stop loving us, this team, or the city of L.A. Well Kobe we will NEVER stop loving you. You have been absolutely incredible. You're a f***ing legend. In our eyes. In anyone who has a brain's eyes. Imo one of the four or five greatest players to ever step on that hardwood. I can't wait till we win another championship and to see guys like D'Angelo, Julius, whoever we get with the pick hugging him and thanking him for his influence. That's gonna be awesome.

Whether he was #8 or #24 he just a bad, bad man. People hated him for years, but that's because for opposing fans he made them despise him. He was so great, so unstoppable, so unrelentless, and any effort to stop him was absolutely futile. That's why he is the Black Mamba. No mercy, no hesitation, he was absolutely venomous and almost God like with how great he was. I think even God would have trouble stopping the man in his hay day. He is simply the best. Don't care what anyone says. Best player I've ever seen play. Best player I believe I ever will see.

I saw the man do the unthinkable, the impossible, the unbelievable. It got to the point where it was like it's unfair how good this dude is. The shots he'd make. The amount of clutch shots. Almost willing the ball in. You may have know what he'd do, but you'd have no way of stopping it. All you could was pray. It had to be so dejection for opposing players, coaches, and fans and for us well it was about as good a feeling as you can have as a fan. Game 7 against the C Bags will always stick with me. Was just so happy for him. Getting to be able to win that fifth ring. Doing it against the C Bags. Not shooting well and still finding a way to dominant the game.

Wednesday night will be special. It's a final chance for everyone whether in attendance or not to thank this man for blessing the us fans with such incredible excellence and consistently. You will never be forgotten Mamba. Thank you. We can't say it enough. It's been fun. There will definitely be some tears shed by a lot of people including myself. You deserve that. Every bit of it. You deserve our appreciate, our respect, our love, you've given all that to us. You're the best Kobe.

 

I didn't cry when MJ retired, but I def will when Kobe retires.
