I would want them to act competitively and let the chips fall where they may. Keep learning on the fly even if they all have been treated inconsistently. I do WANT that April 3rd game against the You Know Who's.
This has sort of been said by other members on here, but I think what Kobe said in his post game presser hit the nail on the head. This win against GSW isn't so much about the W we get in the win column but more about know the process and the extra attention to details that Kobe has been stressing to them does in fact payoff. I'm sure all the losing we've had this year has made our guys maybe question this at times. But Kobe, the hardest worker in NBA history, know this isn't the case. The seeds are hard work and the labor do painful when doing it for enough time, which our guys seem to understand with wins like this. The Win itself, not that big of a deal to me but the reward our guys see because of the preparation is what puts a smile on my face. Keep it up young guns
I'm trying to see what that game could be positive for us in terms of Byron Scoot (new last name for him, like scoot to a dog) and the only thing I can think of is how awesome it would be if Mitch had ordered the tank just prior to this game.
That's why I don't care about the tank or the pick. We HAVE our young core that is gonna take us to the promise land. It's only a matter of getting some better pieces around them, allowing them to grow, and firing that buffoon.
Phenomenal game from all of our young core!! Nance even nearly had a double double off the bench! Just a great thing to see.
Yep, I don't mind losing the pick of its cause our kids are winning games. I'd be ticked off if we were winning games cause Lou scores 40 on 50 shots while playing 45 mins.
Our picks from the 2014 draft class clearly outplayed theirs, and they were both drafted before Randle and JC.
Great game by all our rookies and a good building block for their confidence. I was expecting a let down game after the GS win. Glad I was wrong.
Haven't been this excited about our team in a long time. Last time I was this optimistic, Clublakers was where we talked about Lakers and it was the summer of Nash/Howard. DAR, JC and JR were just exceptional tonight. Get us a star Small Forward and we will be contenders in the near future.
Even the pro-tankers can be positive right now. Despite the wins, we are still only at 14, while Phoenix is at 17, Brooklyn at 18, Minny at 20, and the teams after them in both conferences jump to 24, 25, 26 wins. We haven't gained major ground or something. I don't care about the pick either if it means our young guys are gonna look like this and develop and get confidence. If we get the pick we get it, if not, oh well. I am confused at what the FO goal is though, if they are trying to lose they aren't doing a good job the past week. Nobody informed the kids that we're supposed to be throwing games to get that pick lol. I want to see us do well, for B0ron to be fired because he still deserves it, and then let the ping pong balls fall as they will. Oh and I'd love to beat Cleveland next game as well.
This is what this season is supposed to be about : youth , learning , progress , fun and encouraging wins ... Could have been a fun 30 wins season ... I guess getting it in March is better than never
I'm optimistic we have the poor man's step cousin of the GSW going on right now. DAR - Curry JC - Thompson Randle - Draymond A very long way to go, but you can see the resemblance if you have a couple beers, tilt your head sideways and squint.
Very excited after watching last night (both games) of the possibility of all the fun playoff series between DAR/JC and Dame/CJ for the next 7-10 years. Could be the new hot rivalry once the Spurs/Dubs train starts to slow in a couple years.
Russell was asked about matching those guys as the next group of "Splash Brothers" and he said something to the effect of: "They are two of the greatest shooters in the game along with some other parts of their game. We're trying to make our own way more all-around." I completely agree with that. D'Angelo and Jordan are both built more for driving as well as shooting. They have the ability to get into the paint when they want to even moreso maybe than Klay and Steph. The reason Klay and Steph can get into the paint is because of the attention everyone has to pay to their jumper which opens up lanes. D'Angelo and Jordan can use their size and athleticism more to their advantage. Not to mention D'Angelo's ability to post up smaller guards (he's pretty big at 6'5" for a PG). What we've been seeing defensively is also another way we can be different from the Warriors. The Warriors don't "hide" Steph, but he's not a great defender. Most teams don't have two guards that can initiate the offense on the outside. Having both Jordan and D'Angelo means Steph isn't going to be able to take a break defensively against us. Now don't get me wrong, we're not better than them. Not by a longshot. BUT the tools are there to be more diverse than them. We have the ability to do things that they don't and vice versa. I have a great feeling about these two guys. And shout out to Randle and Nance Jr. too. Between the two of them: 31/21 and 4 steals. Nance almost had his own double-double off the bench. Randle looks more and more comfortable with himself on the floor and the next steps offensively are obviously to nail down the jumper and then to be able to pass the ball more fluidly within the offense. Nance Jr. just needs to get knee healthy and he'll be one of the league's premier bench big men for years to come. He'll be perfect in the role. Those four kids are foundation pieces and there's no doubt about it now. They just outplayed a good number of their contemporaries. Guys like Payton and Oladipo have been around for a couple years already and they were just beaten by what is essentially two rookies and a sophomore. Gordon looks athletic, but his game needs to grow past that. So far our rebuild looks at worst a half step behind theirs and that's pretty impressive. They didn't have Vucevic last night which would have changed things a lot inside.
