I would have opted for the triangle this year than a bunch of the crap we were/are running right now. No doubt. I felt we looked a lot better when we actually ran the triangle at times this year; however, there is a reason 99% of the other teams don't run it or it has very little to do with their offense. You'll see that as the Knicks double down on the Triangle with Kurt Rambis in charge and the ineffectiveness of the Triangle due to the current rules environment of the league. Going forward, it's not a direction I want to go in and would avoid at all costs.

Personally, I just want to see some system in place offensively. I don't mind the triangle. It was good enough for Jordan, Pippen, Shaq, Kobe and Pau to win a collective 11 championships. Fine by me. What I mind right now is that there is no discernible system at all under Boron. Unless you call iso after iso/passing the ball around the perimeter for an entire shot clock a "system." I can't take another year of this crap. Give us a new coach please.

Honestly, I've said it before, this team is tailor made for D'Antoni. Not saying he's the coach to win a ring, but can you imagine what he would be doing with DLo.

    :D

I hate D'Antoni, but Savory is right.

An uptempo style of basketball with these three young players is exactly the kind of thing we should be doing. Watching Milwaukee sprint past us two days ago was so depressing. It's what we should be trying to do every game, but instead we walk down into a horrible half-court system.

I think so. I think it's called the BS system.

The triangle is adjustable Phil has always said so. We can play a fast running type game and utilize the triangle, there is still going to be half-court action no matter what. What do defenses try to do to a running game, slow it down to half-court. Bring Luke in this summer and Phil the next, I'm good with that. To think a genius like Phil can not compensate or adapt to the NBA's current game is ridiculous.

As for Jim, I think he get's too much blame/credit because it has NEVER been clearly defined as to what this guy actually DOES. It's been hard to glean from things he's said but there have been a few small blurbs regarding his duties that I recall like:

He says he follows Mitch's lead
He says he runs a lot of numbers on players. I remember him saying he'll come to Mitch and say "what about this guy or that guy?"
He said he pushed Mitch to call Nash who was not even on Mitch's radar (MK didn't think he would play here) because Jim is a huge Nash fan.
He claimed he was hot for Bynum, truth is, Ronnie Lester scouted him and was really big on him and pushed him hard on the FO so they were already onto Bynum. As a side note Lester served as Asst GM in '10-'11 until Jim took over those duties and Ronnie got the boot.

That's it. That's the only items I have ever heard from Jim about what he does. Unlike Jerry we know he does not go to and exert his will and presence (very effectively I might add) over the CBA and other owner meetings. Jerry was the spokesperson for the big market teams like NY and Chicago. Guys like Jim Nolan are like Jim Buss, spoiled brats with no real earned authority and therefore no effective presence. Jeanie goes to those meetings. Now Jerry, gave in a bit at the last CBA as things had reached a head but with idea being "fine, we will still do well and we have the tv contract, the NBA has their huge tv contract coming, we will waste them in the next cba".

Point is I'm not too sure how much of a negative effect we can credit Jim for. Mitch should be attached to any decisions regarding the FO and I think he's deserved of another season. They could very well have called in the tank a long time ago on this one.

Regardless of any of that, I still don't like Scott's handling of the youth and I don't believe he's a capable coach by demonstration.

Which consists of playing hot potato around the perimeter for 20 seconds and then whoever has the ball at the end goes into an iso. It's amazing how many times Hibbert has the ball way out on the perimeter with the shot clock winding down. I'm sure that's how it was drawn up.

If we are banking on Durant saving the day, then we really are screwed.

This summer what we should really do is clean house in the FO, plus fire Bryon Scott. That and hope we don't lose our draft pick.
