In some ways I'm glad he's not here to see his franchise like this. Then again, if he were here we wouldn't be in this mess.
...somewhere the Good Doctor is looking at all this and asking WTF? Yeah, as a Laker fan I miss the man.
Can you imagine the possibilities with all this salary cap flexibility we have these upcoming seasons any big time free agent saying no to Jerry Buss? Can you imagine him in involved or being a major part of the process with our presentation? I think we have a very slim shot with KD. If Jerry was still with us, I'd tell you: KD will sign on the dotted line, and I'm almost sure of it. I had so much confidence in that man. Not that he wasn't always wrong, but he was right more than he was wrong...
Truly one of the greatest sports owners ever. I think we heard stories last season or the one before about how he had more respect in NBA owners meetings than anyone, and how highly regarded he was. I believe I read he didn't mess around and allow other owners to whine about how we always got the good players because we are a large market either, dude knew his stuff and he was a self-made man. This franchise misses him desperately right now, even in our previous down times it never got this bad on his watch, back then "bad" was a 2nd round playoff exit. I really hope his kids can turn this thing around, he left it to them and so far it's been downhill ever since.
